About the role:
The Senior Manager, Media and Corporate Affairs is responsible for leading the development and execution of strategic media, communications and corporate affairs initiatives that strengthen and protect CDC's brand, reputation and license to operate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a proactive media and corporate affairs strategy aligned to CDC's business objectives, growth agenda and reputation priorities
- Lead external media relations, including media enquiries, press materials, briefing notes, spokesperson preparation and relationship management with key journalists and industry media.
- Provide strategic advice to executives and senior leaders on communications, reputation management, issues handling and external positioning.
- Support the development of corporate messaging and narratives across major announcements, operational milestones, customer stories, sustainability initiatives, infrastructure developments and business change.
- Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of CDC’s participation in corporate affairs forums, including conferences, panels and speaking engagements, and prepare high-quality briefing materials and messaging to support executive representation.
About you:
This role is ideal for a candidate with significant experience in media relations, corporate affairs, public relations in a complex corporate infrastructure, government or regulated environment. If you have had strong experience in developing communications strategies that support executive priorities we would love to speak to you.
Desirable Experience:
- Strong understanding of the Australian and New Zealand media landscape and proven ability to build credible relationships with journalists and external stakeholders.
- Highly developed writing, editing and storytelling capability, with the ability to translate complex technical or operational information into clear, compelling messages.
- Strong judgement, discretion and ability to operate calmly under pressure while managing competing deadlines and stakeholder expectations.
- Demonstrated capability in crisis communications, issues management and executive advisory support.
Essential:
Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security Clearance.
