Team & Opportunity

Marketing and Communication team is driving Vanguard Australia’s growth in the retail investor market. We have an ambitious growth agenda for our business and are seeking an experienced Senior Manager – marketing automation, to lead the team to build an industry leading connected personalized experience for our clients and advisers. Reporting to the head of strategy, planning and marketing technology, the remit of this role has a mix of strategy and implementation deliverables enabling the Senior Manager to drive end to end outcomes.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced people leader well versed in utilising marketing technology to drive business outcome. They are ready to scale their impact on an enterprise level and take the broader business on the transformation journey. In return, you will have a leader who is going to over-invest in you and champion your growth.

Core responsibilities

Strategically

  • Develop and design a Personalisation Strategy for Personal Investor division, covering use cases, customer data, audience management, and platform capabilities.
  • Develop marketing automation roadmap, in collaboration with the IT delivery and architecture team.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Strong ability to use data and analytics to inform strategic decisions and measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience in working closely with other departments (e.g., technology, products, CDAP) to ensure alignment and integration of marketing strategies.

People Leadership

  • Lead a team to deliver a suite of programs, collaborating with IT, CX, and broader marketing team, to provide a connected personalised experience for retail clients and advisers.
  • Develop and implement a set of change management initiatives to uplift marketing team’s capability in personalisation and marketing automation.
  • Experience to coach and improve team members technical skills to drive efficiency.

Performance and Delivery

  • Create and manage workflows for multi-channel, multi-staged customer journey automation to drive efficiency.
  • Develop and operationalise customer contact strategy and permission management.
  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics such as conversion rates, open rates, and click-through rates to continue improve the campaign outcomes.

What are we looking for

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, IT, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications in marketing automation or data analytics would be advantageous.

Experience

  • Extensive experience in marketing automation and personalisation, preferably within the financial services sector but open to other D2C industry experience where there is strong competition on customer experience / digital experience
  • Proven track record of developing and executing automation strategies & programs that drive customer engagement and business growth.
  • Experience in collaborating with IT, CX, and broader marketing teams to deliver integrated marketing solutions.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience leading a small team effectively
  • Experience in driving transformation or working as part of leadership team for a transformation program.

Skills

  • Mastery and proficiency in marketing automation tools in particular, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and Adobe Experience Platform (Adobe Target, Adobe Experience Manager, and Adobe CDP)
  • Strong coaching skills to uplift the team’s technical skills and commercial acumen.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead a team and collaborate with stakeholders.
