ALH Hotels offers a diverse hospitality experience including electronic gaming, sports bars, bistros, restaurants, cafes, accommodation, nightclubs, live sports and racing. Our facilities are located in capital cities and urban and regional centres across Australia. We employ over 15,000 people across Australia at more than 350 licensed venues.
The newly created position, Senior Manager - Gaming Compliance ensures that compliance objectives are consistently achieved within 300+ national ALH Gaming Rooms. This critical role will partner with the Hotels management team and risk partners to embed best practice in managing AML/CTF, Responsible Gaming (RG) and state based gaming legislation. The role will lead a large national team with presence in NSW, VIC, SA, QLD, TAS & NT. This is a newly created role and team which will help shape the future of the largest Pub group in Australia.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role
- Lead a team of regulatory specialists focused on state based Gaming Compliance with a focus on AML/CTF, Safer Gaming & the Gaming Machine Control Act.
- Support venue leadership with escalated decisions and advice.
- Share insights to the Hotels Senior Leadership Team on gaming compliance trends and outcomes.
- Provide subject matter expertise and contribute to the strategic direction of the Regulatory and leadership team.
- Develop strategy to embed compliance objectives within the ALH Hotels gaming rooms (nationally 311 hotels)
- Design and deliver targeted training modules in consultation with Endeavour Capability Team for gaming employees across the ALH venues.
- Ensure regulatory and audit findings are tracked to completion and appropriate closer testing is conducted
- Develop and lead robust change management plans across the ALH business for implementation of uplifted AML/CTF and safer gambling processes, capability and technology
- Work collaboratively internal stakeholders including;
- AML and safer gambling teams to ensure continuous improvement of controls relevant to ML/TF and gambling harm.
- Data and technology stakeholders and external service providers to evaluate and implement technology solutions in support of Endeavour’s broader compliance obligations.
- Legal, Risk and Operations stakeholders to support uplift in governance and implementation of processes aligned with changes to AML/CTF and gambling laws.
- Venue and gaming managers on compliance matters and capability enhancement.
- Engage with State gaming regulators on venue compliance incidents and audit responses.
- Liaise with external consultants and auditors in support of gaming compliance assurance activities.
Qualifications
Now let’s talk about you
- 7+ years experience in a compliance or risk role, with specific gaming industry experience
- Practical experience in application of the AML/CTF Act, safer gambling practices and Gaming Machine Control Act Victoria
- Demonstrated senior leadership experience, leading teams of 10+ people
- Ability to continuously explore new ways to understand and deliver on changing customer needs.
- Stakeholder management skills to build and foster positive relationships.
- Strong initiative, time management and exceptional communication skills.
- Bachelors Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience (Desirable)
- Experience enhancing organisational compliance capability (data, technology, training, intelligence), preferably in AML/CTF and Responsible Gambling (Desirable).
