Company Description

Let’s create a more sociable future together

At Endeavour, we are passionate about creating connections. With a portfolio that includes Dan Murphy’s, BWS, ALH Hotels, Pinnacle Drinks and more, we bring people together and create moments that matter – for our customers, our teams, and our communities.

We are looking for a collaborative and supportive leader who thrives in an inclusive environment and enjoys working with others to solve complex challenges. If you are ready to grow your career in a place where flexibility, wellbeing and belonging are valued, we would love to hear from you.

Job Description

  • Hybrid and flexible ways of working
  • Team discounts across Endeavour Group
  • Be part of the Cyber Leadership team

This is your chance to shape and lead Endeavour’s Cyber Defence Operations function. Reporting to the CISO, you will be responsible for critical security domains, including our Security Operations Centre, Cyber Threat Intelligence, and Detection Engineering.

You will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our people, technology, and data while mentoring a talented team and collaborating with leaders across the business to create a safer, more resilient future.

Sound good? Read on.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:

  • Shape and lead Endeavour’s Cyber Defence Operations strategy, helping protect the technology and data that connect millions of Australians every day.

  • Empower and mentor diverse teams across the SOC, Threat Intelligence and Detection Engineering to grow and thrive.

  • Champion collaboration and innovation, creating an environment where ideas are shared, tested and celebrated.

  • Oversee incident response and advanced detection capabilities, building resilience and confidence across the organisation.

  • Work in partnership with Digital, Corporate Technology and business teams to weave security into everything we do.

  • Influence at the highest level, presenting insights and recommendations that shape senior leadership priorities.

  • Drive smart improvements through automation, streamlined workflows and new technologies, freeing your teams to focus on what matters most.

Qualifications

Now let’s talk about you:

We know talent comes in many forms, and not everyone ticks every box. If you have strong leadership skills, a background in cyber defence or related fields, and a passion for growing teams, we would love to hear from you.

  • Leadership experience in cybersecurity (typically 8+ years, but we welcome equivalent skills gained through different pathways).

  • Strong knowledge of SOC operations, incident response, and detection engineering.

  • Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST, CIS18, ISO 27001, and hands-on experience with tools like SIEM/SOAR (Azure Sentinel) or EDR.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to mentor, collaborate and build trusted relationships across the business.

  • Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CCSP) are highly regarded, but not essential -what matters most is your ability to lead with confidence, curiosity and care.

We know and research shows that sometimes people hesitate to apply unless they meet every requirement. If this role excites you and you have most of the skills or experience, please go ahead and apply. You could be exactly who we are looking for.

If you are passionate about cyber security, leadership and creating a more sociable future, we would love to hear from you

The benefits are good too!

  • Flexibility first with hybrid work and ways of working that support you, your family and your lifestyle.

  • Exclusive team discounts across BWS, Dan Murphy’s, Woolworths and more, plus discounts at our ALH Hotels.

  • Meeting free days, giving you space to focus, grow and recharge.

  • Health and wellbeing support including free and confidential services including counselling, nutrition and lifestyle advice, financial coaching, family and legal support, to help build confidence resilience and connection

  • Paid and unpaid leave options including up to 24 months parental leave, personal and carer’s leave, emergency services leave, and gender affirmation leave.

  • Career growth with learning and development pathways, plus career assist programs to support your goals.

  • Inclusive culture! We are building a place where everyone belongs, can dream big and leave their mark.

At Endeavour, you will also be connected to our internal inclusion and community networks, including:

  • EmpowerHER – our women in technology and leadership network, supporting women and allies to grow, connect and lead.

  • Proud at Endeavour Hub – celebrating and supporting our LGBTQ+ community.

  • Reconciliation Hub – driving our commitment to First Nations inclusion, recognition and partnership.

  • Jawun Partner Site – offering unique secondment opportunities to collaborate with First Nations organisations and communities.

  • Social Crew – bringing our teams together through fun, social and community building events

At Endeavour, we value being a workplace where everyone’s welcome - if you meet a number of the requirements (and not all), we encourage you to apply.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
