  • Leading the annual budgeting and rolling forecasting processes for your cost base.
  • Challenging assumptions and assessing the return on spend with budget owners.
  • Owning month-end accruals, prepayments, journals and reconciliations.
  • Managing the purchase order process end to end and providing visibility of committed spend.
  • Designing and maintaining a clear cost centre and account structure with defined ownership.
  • Supporting the ERP implementation, including cost centre hierarchy, approval workflows, procure-to-pay, testing and training.
  • Strengthening approvals, delegations and cost management processes.
  • Building reporting that connects spend with commercial outcomes and helps identify savings opportunities.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for

  • CA or CPA qualified, or well progressed, with experience in management accounting, FP&A or commercial finance.
  • Experience owning an operating cost base and partnering with non-finance stakeholders.
  • Experience working with Media, Marketing or Technology spend is highly regarded.
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting and cost centre reporting experience in a multi-entity environment.
  • Hands-on experience with purchase orders and procure-to-pay processes.
  • Exposure to an ERP implementation, such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP or a similar platform.
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with BI tools.
  • A confident communicator who can build strong relationships and challenge senior stakeholders.
  • The ability to create structure and improve processes in a fast-moving, evolving business.
  • A practical, accountable and collaborative approach to getting results.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
