Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks a motivated and driven Senior Legal Manager - ANZ to join our team. You will lead an outstanding team and work closely with regional and global teams on legal and compliance matters. Your expertise will ensure flawless execution of our business strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all legal and compliance matters in ANZ, including commercial, competition, corporate, employment, governance, IP, litigation, anti-bribery, fraud and regulatory, products liability, and data privacy.
  • Collaborate with the ANZ leadership team to review commercial contracts and advise central initiatives covering the full spectrum of business issues in ANZ.
  • Collaborate with regional and global teams to develop, implement, and maintain a compliance program that balances company philosophy with local laws and culture; provide associated legal advice.
  • Interact with business groups and divisions operating in ANZ on various issues, including promotional practices and product liabilities.
  • Develop collaborative and positive relationships internally and with third-party organizations, including outside counsels.
  • Develop and implement an annual operating plan for ANZ including staffing plans and budget. Monitor and review budget spending on a periodic basis.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Law degree from a recognized university/law school.
  • 8-10 years of post qualification experience as a lawyer in Australia.
  • Experience within a multinational company in-house legal department.
  • Proven experience working with major corporations and adopting various legal approaches.
  • Excellent business sense, good judgment, and strong influencing skills.
  • Ability to develop practical processes/approaches and drive solutions to completion.
  • Experience in team building and management, strong communication skills, and organizational change skills.
  • Organizational savvy to navigate through a matrix organization.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
