Step into a role where you’ll be trusted, involved, and genuinely make an impact from day one.
We’re looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join our team on a 12-month maternity leave cover. While this is a contract role, the scope is anything but “keep things ticking over.”
You’ll be stepping into a well-established function at a time where the business continues to grow and evolve, particularly across commercial partnerships and operational improvement. From day one, you’ll be working closely with senior leaders, helping shape decisions, navigate risk, and keep momentum across a range of initiatives.
This is a role for someone who enjoys being close to the business, particularly at Executive level, as the trusted go-to advisor, understanding how things work, building relationships, and offering practical, commercially sound advice that helps move things forward.
A day in the life
One day you might be negotiating a key commercial agreement or supporting a new client deal. The next, you could be working with internal teams to simplify contract processes, improve templates, or streamline how our legal team partners with our business.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts
- Providing clear, pragmatic legal advice
- Supporting new and existing client relationships and deals
- Contributing to improvements in contract processes, templates and tools
- Supporting risk and compliance activities (including insurance, audit and regulatory matters)
- Working on projects that help the business operate more efficiently
What we’re looking for
We’re after a lawyer who thrives in a fast-moving, commercially-focused environment and enjoys being close to the business. You’ll be confident enough to advise senior leaders, pragmatic enough to provide solutions that work in the real world, and curious enough to look for opportunities to make processes and contracts better.
You bring:
- Strong experience in commercial contracts (in-house or private practice)
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders and contributing to decisions
- A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach to legal advice
- An interest in improving processes and how things are done
- The ability to work autonomously while being part of a close-knit team
