Our Team
From take-off to landing, Thales offers the most complete range of solutions to provide dynamic Air Traffic Services to support today's growing domestic and international travel requirements. Utilising this knowledge and experience Thales Australia will deliver a harmonised Civil/Military Air Traffic Management System (OneSKY) in Australia to Airservices Australia and Defence.
This will enable a new level of safety and efficiency, while also reducing delays for the travelling public and providing opportunities to improve environmental outcomes. OneSKY will transform Australia's sky and we are proud to be partners in its delivery.
Your role:
Thales Air Mobility Solutions (AMS) is seeking a skilled and experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join the team, with the primary purpose to apply their automation (ansible) skills for system deployment and configuration on primarily Linux (RHEL) and Linux-like operating systems.
This position is to predominantly based at our Melbourne CBD location with frequent visibility required at our Tullamarine location.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Ongoing development and hardening of the SOEs in accordance with system design, security requirements to meet the operational functional and security objectives.
- Ongoing automation of the SOE deployment and configuration,
- Updating design documentation
- Support in the design input to the Role Based Access Control (RBAC) model at the SOE / infrastructure layer,
- Device monitoring configuration
- Remote control configuration.
- Support to the integration teams to troubleshoot and develop the solution
- Support to the test teams for the development and execution of test campaigns.
On day one you will come with:
- Australian Citizenship to be able to gain defence security clearance
- Solid experience with the Red Hat Linux Operating Systems, including Kernel configuration, driver packages, performance tuning, hardening and automation
- Experience with Automation Tools (Ansible)
- CI/CD experience (Jenkins, Travis, Octopus)
- Experience of scripting languages (Python, Perl, YAML and Shell)
- Familiarity with a wide range of computer and networking hardware (preferably HP and Cisco)
- Knowledge of network protocols and principles such as TCP/IP, VLANS
- Solid understanding of hardware integration and testing processes
- Practical experience of validation and integration of hardware components on large, complex, software-based systems
