WHAT YOU’LL DO- Perform conceptual design, detailed design, test and validation for cutting edge subsea vehicles of your own design.
- Communicate pros/cons of system architecture with respect to product mission requirements.
- Generate and maintain hydro-performance models, loads datasets & hydrodynamic databases for multiple vehicle configurations.
- Develop internal tools and efficient report structures for communicating subsea vehicle characteristics with team members in GNC, structures, propulsion, controls, test & program management
- Present status at formal reviews conducted both internally and with the Customer. Technical status, risk tracking, inputs to program planning, etc.
- Interview other team members as projects grow in scope and complexity, attract strong technical talent.
- Provide inputs into the build out of the business to support Anduril’s expanding workstatement.
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in engineering, science or mathematics with experience in some or all of the following disciplines: Vehicle configuration development; Vehicle hydrodynamics; Vehicle dynamics; Hydro-servo-elastics; Propulsion integration; Vehicle Test.
- Deep understanding of some or all of the following knowledge domains: HydroPerformance; Computational Fluid dynamics (CFD); Hydrodynamics; Static &/or Dynamic Loads; Wind tunnel test; Sea Trials and Structural dynamic testing.
- 3-5 years of experience designing subsea vehicle systems in an integrated product team environment.
- Hydrodynamic &/or GNC testing experience, data acquisition, data post processing (Python preferred).
- Highly motivated, self-starting, and able to perform duties autonomously without supervision.
- Very organized and willing to establish scope and requirements for ill-defined problems.
- Passion for defending Australia and her allies.
- Must be eligible to obtain and hold an Australian security clearance at the NV2 level.
- A prior focus on the design of subsea vehicles for both prototype and production.
- Experience developing machine learning tools to aid in rapid subsea vehicle design.
- Experience developing code in higher level languages (e.g. Python, MATLAB, C++) for developing analytical models, data acquisition and automation.
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
