This twelve-month fixed-term position is a vital addition to the Xero finance environment, where you will ensure the business meets its reporting requirements as a listed issuer. You will take ownership of key areas including employee benefit and share-based payment schemes, acting as a critical contributor to the accuracy and success of our financial reporting.
By diving deep into profit and loss analysis, you will identify trends and anomalies that help steer our financial narrative during half-year and annual cycles. Your work extends beyond the numbers, as you play a role in remuneration disclosures and ensure our foreign subsidiaries remain compliant, providing a sturdy foundation for our global operations.
The team / how they connectYou will join a high-performing finance team that thrives on collaboration and shared knowledge. Working closely with FP&A, legal, and people experience teams, you will act as a leader and mentor to ensure our financial reporting is seamless and integrated across the business.

Supporting the half-year and annual audit cycles to ensure precise and timely reporting.
Identifying and implementing process improvements across the financial accounting function.
Partnering with global subsidiaries to maintain compliance and oversight of international reporting standards.
This role can be based in our Auckland or Wellington office with a hybrid working arrangement. We embrace a flexible approach that balances time spent collaborating in our modern office space with the autonomy to work from home, including designated boost days to bring our teams together.
Here are some of the things we are looking forYou bring a recognized accounting qualification, such as a CA or equivalent, with a deep understanding of current accounting standards.
Your background includes a history of improving financial processes and solving complex problems within a large corporate or professional services environment.
You will have advanced technical skills in Excel or Google Sheets, enabling you to analyse results and identify anomalies with ease.
You possess a collaborative mindset and enjoy working as part of a coordinated team to achieve shared goals under pressure.
Your communication style allows you to translate financial data into clear insights for stakeholders across different business areas.
You have an interest in coaching and developing others, sharing your technical mastery to help the wider team grow.
