This role is an Australia-based, fully work-from-home position, with access to co-working spaces in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Job Description

Are you equally comfortable navigating enterprise-level complexity and rolling up your sleeves in the fast-paced chaos of a start-up? Join us as our Senior Finance Manager and play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of a business that blends ambition, innovation, and operational excellence.

Reporting directly to our Head of Finance, you’ll bring a unique mix of strategic insight and hands-on expertise—owning core financial operations while driving improvements that position us for scalable growth.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee daily finance operations including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.

  • Prepare insightful monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports with commentary for senior leadership.

  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and regulatory requirements, including preparation of BAS, GST, FBT, and PAYG returns.

  • Manage internal and external audits with a focus on accuracy and transparency.

  • Strengthen internal controls and continuously improve systems and processes, creating clear documentation along the way.

  • Mentor and develop a high-performing finance team, championing collaboration and diversity.

  • Lead and contribute to projects that enhance efficiency, quality, and scalability.

Qualifications

  • Solid finance and accounting background, ideally with CPA qualification.

  • Experience in both large enterprises and start-ups—you understand how to balance robust financial governance with agile, entrepreneurial problem-solving.

  • Background in audit and exposure to inventory accounting a plus.

  • Proficiency with financial management systems—experience with Xero highly valued.

  • A knack for translating complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.

  • Proven success thriving in high-growth, fast-paced environments.

  • A proactive, self-driven attitude with a love for improving processes and driving impact.
