The primary purpose of the Senior Finance Analyst - Financial Planning & Analysis role in the Retail Finance team (responsible for Dan Murphy's) is to play an integral role in the annual budget process, monthly results cycles and ongoing forecast process, whilst analysing performance and maintaining the integrity of financial data that the business uses to make key commercial decisions.

We are looking for someone who has strong data analysis and modelling skills to be able to analyse and summarise high volumes of data, strong presentation and communication skills and most importantly are highly analytical and has excellent attention to detail.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:

• Improve team ways of working by introducing innovative analysis, identifying system efficiencies, improving processes and providing constructive challenge to all areas 
• Deliver insightful analysis and commercial recommendations including ownership of the  monthly Dan Murphy’s performance pack and tracking against strategic objectives, input into the Endeavour Group reporting cycle and interaction with the Dan Murphy’s Leadership Team 
• Manage the Dan Murphy’s P&L against budget/forecast and collaborate with key financial and non-financial stakeholders to track performance and expectations
• Work with FP&A Senior Finance Manager and the broader Dan Murphy’s Finance team to ensure consistent rhythm in place for monthly, quarterly and yearly deliverables 
• Support the coordination, preparation and submission of the annual budget and ongoing forecast process, including ensuring the budget and forecast are understood and owned by the respective functional areas
• Working closely with colleagues across the business to assess risks and opportunities against financial targets and provide recommendations for mitigating actions
• Provide leadership in financial control with management of brand P&L month end close including posting of relevant month end journals and coordination with Finance Shared Services
• Management of brand overhead costs 
• A key point of contact for the broader Dan Murphy’s Finance team as well as Group Financial Planning & Analysis, Finance Shared Services and the Dan Murphy’s Leadership Team

Now let’s talk about you

• Minimum 7 years of finance and/or accounting experience 
• CA/CPA/CIMA qualified 
• Strong data analysis and modelling skills to analyse and summarise high volumes of data 
• Strong presentation and storytelling skills 
• Able to ensure the approach and output is simple, structured, accurate and robust 
• Able to synthesise large amounts of data from a variety of sources 
• Able to communicate complex financial information to a broad audience and make the  complex simple 
• Ability to identify efficiencies to accommodate the changing business environment 
• Prioritise team efforts to support business requirements 
• Strong experience using financial systems in a commercial environment e.g. Excel / Google Sheets (e.g. pivot  tables, input ranges, Vlookups, macros), SAP, IBM IPA, Tableau etc
