  • We are mapping the technology future of our Legal and Audit functions

  • Together we will align technology with regulatory, financial, and operational goals

Do work that matters

In this role, you will design architectural roadmaps and draft architectural positions for Enterprise Architecture (EA), in accordance with enterprise strategies and EA processes. As the subject matter expert representing Enterprise Architecture, you will analyse client requirements and propose and drive target state solutions that benefit the Bank.

See yourself in our team

We are in the Enterprise Architecture Chapter Area which reports to the Chief Technology Officer. Our Chapter is 100% aligned to support the Corporate Technology Team. Corporate Technology includes Risk, Finance, Procurement, Property, Legal and Group Operations.

Our team embraces technology transformation whilst working collaboratively with our stakeholders. We recognise that modernising the Bank is complex. We must strive to develop a modern target state whilst recognising that transition needs to be manageable and achievable.

To be successful in this role, you need to be a listener, truly being a problem solver and designer of secure, cloud and modernised architectural solutions for Legal and Audit technology. You will assess and implement hybrid or multi-cloud strategies all whilst balancing cost, compliance, and performance.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the implementation of EA strategies and best practices to support Legal and Audit business objectives, while focusing on business process design, solutions, information gathering and technology utilisation.

  • Provide expertise and guidance to enterprise architects on defining technical service capabilities, design attributes, draft enterprise profiles and segment architecture; controlling risks and solving complex issues related to EA and the unique requirements of Legal and Audit.

  • Assess and drive the migration of monolith and legacy legal and audit systems to cloud or hybrid environments as appropriate, ensuring both continuity and compliance during transitions.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies (e.g., AI in audit, LLMs in Legal) whilst simultaneously aligning Legal and audit technology initiatives with enterprise goals.

  • Introduce and maximise the use of AI/ML for audit anomaly detection, fraud prevention, and predictive financial insights.

  • Introduce LLMs and Agentic AI to guide and automate common legal and audit tasks (compliance checks, etc).

  • Bar Raise solution architecture against Reference Architecture.

  • Maintain relationships with stakeholders, addressing the unique stakeholder requirements of these domains and provide influential consultations to shape their future success.

  • Provide EA support by explaining and directing teams in baseline, target and roadmap development, transition planning, system and security management and segment architecture.

  • Communicate effectively at senior levels, and with our senior technology leaders, engineers and delivery team members.

We’re interested in hearing from people who:

  • Embrace and evangelise technology modernisation and drive transformation

  • Have proven experience delivering the technology future for Corporate Services, ideally gained from a big consulting firm

  • Have expertise in either or both the Legal or Audit domains, ideally attained from working for or with a large/complex organisation

  • Have demonstratable skills in first principles problem solving

  • Have a degree in Computer Science, or a non-computer-science degree and demonstratable technology knowledge

  • Embrace continuous learning and encourage this in others

  • Have proven experience in an Architecture, Technology or Transformation role

  • Have familiarity or qualifications in an Enterprise Architecture methodology, e.g. TOGAF, Zachman

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
