The CVD Central Process and Equipment Engineering (CPEE) High Volume Manufacturing organization is seeking a highly motivated engineer to drive manufacturing excellence, equipment performance, and network-wide productivity across Micron's global semiconductor fabrication facilities. This role is responsible for developing and executing manufacturing strategies that improve equipment capability, factory output, cost competitiveness, and technology readiness while leveraging advanced analytics, digital manufacturing solutions, and AI-enabled tools to accelerate decision making and operational improvements.
The successful candidate will work closely with global manufacturing teams, technology development organizations, and strategic equipment suppliers to define long-term equipment and manufacturing roadmaps, identify future capability requirements, and accelerate deployment of innovative solutions across the Micron network. This position provides a unique opportunity to influence manufacturing strategy, shape supplier development priorities, and drive competitive advantage through advanced equipment and manufacturing solutions.
Strategic Manufacturing & Supplier Leadership
  • Develop and drive long-term manufacturing and equipment capability roadmaps to support future technology requirements, capacity expansion, and factory competitiveness.
  • Partner with strategic equipment suppliers to define and influence next-generation hardware, software, automation, and process capability improvements.
  • Translate Micron manufacturing challenges and future business needs into supplier development priorities and technology roadmaps.
  • Establish strategic partnerships with suppliers to accelerate deployment of innovative solutions that improve productivity, reliability, sustainability, and cost of ownership.
  • Evaluate emerging manufacturing technologies and assess their applicability to future Micron manufacturing needs.

Global Manufacturing Strategy
  • Influence manufacturing strategy across Micron's global network by identifying and driving opportunities that improve output, cycle time, equipment utilization, and cost competitiveness.
  • Lead cross-site initiatives focused on equipment productivity, capacity optimization, cost reduction, and operational excellence.
  • Drive standardization and replication of best-known methods across multiple fabrication facilities to maximize network benefits.
  • Support executive-level decision making through data-driven analysis of equipment capability, manufacturing constraints, and future technology requirements.
  • Collaborate with site engineering teams, technology development organizations, and manufacturing leadership to align tactical execution with long-term manufacturing objectives.

Existing Technical Responsibilities
  • Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives to improve CVD equipment performance, productivity, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Lead engineering efforts to improve key manufacturing metrics including availability, throughput, utilization, OEE, cycle time, and cost of ownership.
  • Support technology transfer, process qualification, and high-volume manufacturing ramps.
  • Lead root cause investigations and implementation of sustainable corrective actions.
  • Utilize advanced analytics and digital manufacturing solutions to identify opportunities and improve operational performance.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to development of technical capability within the organization.

AI-Enabled Manufacturing Excellence
  • Leverage AI, machine learning, advanced analytics, and digital manufacturing solutions to identify equipment optimization opportunities and accelerate root cause analysis.
  • Utilize AI-enabled productivity tools and data platforms to improve engineering efficiency, decision making, and operational performance.
  • Partner with manufacturing, automation, and data science teams to evaluate and deploy AI-driven solutions that improve equipment reliability, throughput, cost, and manufacturing competitiveness.
  • Drive adoption of AI-enabled ways of working to support continuous improvement, knowledge management, and productivity enhancement across the engineering organization.

Requirements
  • Bachelor degree and above or equivalent experience
