Senior Drainage Engineer

Our Purpose

Together we deliver better infrastructure for a better tomorrow.

We create smart transport solutions that meet today’s needs and tomorrow’s challenges—connecting communities across cities and remote regions.

Our mission: move people faster and safer through innovative rail, road, bridge, and maritime projects. Guided by sustainability, we design with care for people and planet, helping communities thrive and future cities flourish.

We don’t just improve travel—we shape vibrant spaces, preserving culture and heritage while bringing people together.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Drainage Engineer, you’ll play a key role in delivering major transport projects across Victoria. From roads to rail, you’ll take ownership of drainage design and project delivery—planning, designing, and executing solutions that meet the highest standards.

You’ll lead design teams, mentor junior engineers, and manage projects end-to-end, ensuring timelines, budgets, and safety requirements are met. Building strong client relationships will be central to your success, as will your ability to produce clear, technically sound reports and proposals.

This is your chance to work alongside some of the best in the industry on high-profile projects that shape the future of Australia’s transport infrastructure.

Who are you?

You’re an experienced Senior Drainage Engineer with a strong track record in civil infrastructure projects. Your expertise in drainage design—particularly for roads and transport—sets you apart, and you’re confident working in multidisciplinary environments. Building trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders comes naturally to you.

You bring:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)

  • Hands-on experience delivering infrastructure projects with consultants, contractors, and government agencies

  • Advanced technical design skills and proficiency in drainage modelling software

  • Knowledge of relevant design codes (Austroads, State Transport Authority guidelines)

  • Chartered Professional Engineer status—or the ability to achieve it within six months

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
