Job Responsibilities:
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:• Develops and designs a product from concept to series production to ensure a robust design solution for exterior Lighting.• Provides necessary product information from development to series production.• Works closely with the product engineer to develop and implement a design concept that meets customer requirements.• Focuses on manufacturability, performance, cost and understands the risks of the proposed solutions.• Performs comprehensive vehicle-level installation studies, addressing physical space constraints, legal functional requirements and manufacturing constraints.• Creates 3D product models including product checks (Validate/Q-checker etc.) within the expected timeframe and proposes an action plan in case of issues.• Creates component manufacturing drawings.• Creates and defines 3D files according to internal and customer guidelines.• Creates assembly drawings and other technical documentation for products under development.• Maintains and reviews 3D files within our and customer data management systems.• Provides translations of 3D data formats to suppliers, customers or internal departments.• Reviews design and manufacturing documentation. Collaborates with production engineer and quality control.• Defines dimensional measurement plans for parts.• Collaborates with purchasing to prepare required documentation.• Provides 3D data, drawings and other materials to facilitate VAVE initiatives.• Supports manufacturing in resolving technical issues up to SOP+90 in collaboration with product engineer and project manager.• Creates and maintains standard parts library.• Maintains and updates bill of materials, assists with DFMEA.
QUALIFICATIONS:• Education: - BE/ME (Mech/Auto)• 4-7 years' experience in Automotive Exterior Lighting• Strong proficiency in parametric and solid modelling using CATIA V5
