Reporting directly to our Head of Data Enablement, the Senior Product Owner - Data drives the strategic vision, delivery, and lifecycle management of enterprise data products, platforms, and reporting, ensuring data assets are high-quality, discoverable, secure, and delivering measurable business value.
This role is accountable for bridging the gap between business stakeholders, data engineers, and data management teams, leading the development of data products to enable business outcomes, democratising data, and data-informed decision-making across the organisation.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for:
- Data Product Leadership: Define and manage the roadmap for enterprise data products (e.g., Customer Level View (CLV), Internal Bureau (IB) / Customer Feature Store (CFS)), balancing near-term business needs with long-term data strategy.
- Value-Driven Data Delivery: Translate strategic goals into prioritised data product backlogs that enable reporting, data democratisation, analytics, AI/ML use cases, reporting, and operational insights.
- Stakeholder Engagement: serve as the link between business units, analytics teams, and data engineers to align priorities, define product outcomes, and ensure value delivery.
- Vendor Management: partner with external third parties to ensure quality delivery under Latitude’s Managed Data Services (MDS) operating model
- Drive the value delivery of on time, high quality enterprise reports, including daily, weekly, and monthly BAU reporting. Continue to uplift and operating model around challenging which reports continue to be required, automation, and tech simplification.
- Data Platform Evolution: Partner with the principal engineer to evolve Latitude’s data platform capabilities (e.g., data lakehouse, data APIs, streaming pipelines) to improve scalability, interoperability, and time-to-insight.
- Partner closely with the Principal Engineer to execute your product delivery roadmap.
- Agile Delivery Execution: Lead Agile ceremonies for the data product team, driving consistent, iterative delivery of data features and improvements.
- Security, Privacy & Compliance: Ensure data products meet legal, and ethical standards, focusing on security, privacy and consent all while mitigating technology risks.
- Metrics & Performance: Define and monitor success metrics for data products, including usage, adoption, and business impact.
- Leadership & Culture: Foster a data-centric culture through influence, coaching, and advocacy of data as a strategic asset.
- Perform any other duties as may be reasonably required from time to time
- Work cross-functionally with domain leads, engineers, and governance stakeholders to co-design and evolve data products that align with Latitude’s enterprise model.
- Lead the cultural shift toward product-oriented thinking by advocating for shared ownership, standardisation, and value-driven delivery across teams.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Data Product Manager in a data-driven environment, working with Data as a Product mindset
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience working in modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, etc.) and data pipeline technologies.
- Strong understanding of enterprise data reporting requirements and regulatory reporting (e.g., Comprehensive Credit Reporting, AFCA reporting).
- Familiarity with analytics, BI, and ML use cases.
