About the role:

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer– Azure or AWS to join our team in Melbourne, Australia 

This is a high-impact leadership role; you will play a key part in designing and delivering modern, enterprise-scale data platforms for our clients. You will lead by owning architecture decisions, guiding engineering teams, and partnering closely with stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into robust, scalable cloud solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and cost-effective data platforms on Azure or AWS 
  • Architecting and orchestrating robust data pipelines 
  • Designing and optimising enterprise-grade data models in Snowflake
  • Implementing transformation and analytics engineering frameworks using dbt
  • Driving large-scale data transformation programs across multi-source, high-volume environments
  • Experience with a consulting background (must have) 
  • Providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and uplifting delivery capability
  • Engaging directly with client stakeholders to shape solution architecture and ensure successful outcomes
About you:

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Several years of experience in data engineering, ideally within consulting or professional services
  • Proven experience leading and delivering large-scale enterprise data programs
  • Advanced SQL skills and strong data modelling expertise (dimensional modelling, ELT patterns)
  • Experience designing and implementing cloud-native data architectures
  • Experience implementing data quality, lineage, and governance frameworks
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership capability across multi-stakeholder delivery environments

You’ll be at an advantage if you also have

  • Experience with a consulting background 
  • Experience with Agile delivery methodologies
  • Experience contributing to solution architecture and technical design documentation
