Do work that matters:

As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll be part of the Engineering Chapter building Data Assets for the Financial Crime domain.   We work across the AWS Cloud, Teradata Group Data Warehouse, Hadoop Big Data Platform and Snowflake technologies, which is why we’re the perfect fit for you. Here, you’ll be part of a team of engineers going above and beyond to improve the standard of digital banking, using the latest tech to solve our customers’ most complex data-centric problems.

We are interested in hearing from people who:

  • Worked in an Agile environment to solve problems and achieve common objectives in the data engineering space.

  • Have Experience in collaborating with business stakeholders to understand their processes, goals and pain points

  • Have ability to gather, analyse and document business and technical requirements

  • Have ability to translate business needs into detailed use cases and functional specifications

  • Have knowledge in defining and implementing test cases, test strategy, test plans for bigdata/ cloud applications and pipelines

  • Have ability to perform product deployment – using CICD pipelines.

  • Have experience with data governance controls, data security and data management.

  • Are Passionate about building next generation data platforms and data pipeline solution across the bank.

  • Are Ready to execute state-of-the-art coding and testing practices, driving high quality outcomes to solve core business objectives and minimise risks.

  • Have experience and responsible for data security and data management.

  • Are constantly thinking creatively and breaking boundaries to solve complex data problems.

Tech skills:

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We do not expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these, or a willing to learn these skillsets (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team!

  • Experience in building data solution in Hadoop and Big Data platforms, using Spark framework and Python.

  • Experience with Cloud Technologies including Redshift, Iceberg tables, EMR, Glue, Athena, S3 & Snowflake.

  • Data Processing: Strong expertise in Python, SQL, Spark

  • Data Governance & Security: Experience with AWS DataZone, Lake Formation, IAM, encryption.

  • Marketplace & APIs: Exposure to AWS Marketplace, API Gateway, and data monetization strategies.

  • Automation & CI/CD: Experience with CloudFormation, GitOps, and serverless frameworks.

  • Performance Optimization: Ability to fine-tune ETL jobs, query performance, and cost efficiencies.

  • Exp with Oracle Database, PL/SQL (procedures, functions, packages, triggers) is desirable
