The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for leading end-to-end analytical projects and coordinating delivery with stakeholders with a key focus on strong insights and actions for business use.

We’re looking for someone who isn’t afraid of the unknown: can ask the right questions, get deep into data,  build  and maintain new models for data consumption, explain findings to stakeholders and work as part of a well-rounded team of analysts.

The role of d&ai is to ensure we’re supporting the growth of Endeavour by providing meaningful insights to support decisions and outcomes for customers and stakeholders across our retail and online environments.

Sound good? Read on.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:

  • Lead full analytical lifecycle (requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, data collation and interpretation, insights generation, testing and delivery) across multiple work streams

  • Focus on the insights (aka ‘so what’)  from ongoing and ad hoc analysis, defining the narrative and identifying actions and opportunities

  • Ensure your solutions meet business requirements whilst aligning to team standards to provide consistency across the business

  • Establish strong relationships with business stakeholders to become their trusted advisor and partner

  • Provide SME support on data and insights needs to key stakeholders within relevant functional domains

  • Build curated datasets from various internal and external data sources on our Google Cloud Platform

  • Develop end-to-end processes for data modelling, mining and production (aka how will you source, cleanse, merge and manage your data?)

  • Document your pathways: champion the role of solid data governance, create data lineage assets and create meaningful documentation for your stakeholders and peers

  • Thrive and grow (and challenge) our team norms, standards and procedures to provide consistency across the business and with peers

  • Keep knowledge of current trends up to date to ensure our solutions remain in line with industry best practice

  • Support peers and coach junior team members

Qualifications

Now let’s talk about you:

  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent in a relevant field (Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Analytics)

  • Have a minimum of 5 years hands on analytics experience

  • Strong SQL skills

  • Strong experience with databases, DB queries, able to manipulate data & understand impacts on performance

  • Experience in optimising the design of the data sets to run fast and bring data together

  • Strong understanding and experience in designing data structures

  • Experience in technical operations working with Cloud technologies (GCP, DBT)

  • Data visualisation and storytelling experience (Tableau)

  • Ability to inspire, coach and develop more junior team members

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work with large and complex data sets using different applications

  • Delivery and outcome-focused with a constructive approach to challenges and problem solving

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
