By joining us you will work with and learn from the brightest minds to create ground breaking content that pushes boundaries and enables young Aussies to feel seen, informed, entertained and understood.

Job Description

As Senior Creative Strategy Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in accelerating revenue growth and driving innovative commercial opportunities across Australia, using top-tier insights, research and exceptional creative strategy to shape campaigns that’ll win awards.

Reporting to the Director of Studio Operations and Creative Strategy and living within our award-winning STUDIO team with some of the most creative minds around, you’ll be at the forefront of the commercial success for the business, cultivating strong internal relationships with stakeholders.

Your success will come from balancing Pedestrian Group’s ambitions with our clients' goals to develop campaigns that stand out and deliver impact.

Day to day you will:

  • Develop exceptional creative strategies for cross–channel media campaigns using research that forms insights to solve client briefs and challenges.
  • Unpack client briefs to identify strategic goals and actions to achieve them.
  • Be the final say on creative campaign responses, including editing and refining strategies and pitch decks.
  • Mentor and uplift the more junior team members in the Creative Strategy team.
  • Use excellent writing and storytelling skills to communicate your creative vision and answer each client brief to perfection.
  • Have the confidence to ideate across all Pedestrian brands with a production-focused framework, utilising our studio production capabilities to integrate brands seamlessly.
  • Take the lead on your own brief responses with a hungry and fearless attitude, with the ability to work on multiple projects at once.
  • Confidently present creative media strategies for campaigns to media agencies and clients.
  • Be chronically online – staying on top of youth culture trends, industry trends, social media trends and technologies, using this knowledge and insight to build market-leading campaigns.
  • Collaborate closely with the commercial partnerships team and Studio production team to ensure the seamless alignment and execution of strategic visions.
  • Be a confident thought leader within the business – you always have knowledge to share with the wider business in the context of social media and cultural trends in Australia.
  • Lead research projects with a combination of qualitative and quantitative sources.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring:

  • Proven experience in a strategy-focused or adjacent role in media or advertising – or transferrable creative, marketing or branding experience.
  • Excellent writing skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Lateral thinking with the confidence to defy the norm when appropriate – you’re not afraid to zig when others zag.
  • Excellent presentation skills – you are confident pitching all the way up to the C-suite.
  • Adaptable on your creative ideas – you can take feedback and run with it without being protective.
  • An amazing curator, you can intuitively select the strongest route for a strategy to go down.
  • In tune with pop culture, cultural movements and social media trends, in the know of what’s trending among young Australians – you always have a hot take on what’s happening socially and in the media, and you’re not afraid to share it.
  • Highly creative mindset, coupled with the knack to turn creative ideas into actionable strategy.
  • Exceptional storytelling, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Team player who thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
