We’re looking for people to join the Access family, who share our passion for believing in better, and who will help us continue to grow.

Love Work. Love Life. Be You. - is central to our success and how we give our customers the freedom to do more of what's important to them.

What does Access offer you?

We offer a blended approach to office working, encouraging you to collaborate and connect in one of our thriving offices. We deliver on what we say, taking the development of our people seriously. We’ll work with you to progress your success plan and provide opportunities to accelerate your career.

About you:

As a Senior Consultant within our Professional Services team, you will lead the end-to-end implementation of Access Group's accounting and practice management software suite across a portfolio of Australian and New Zealand accounting firms. You'll act as a trusted advisor to clients, drawing on your deep accounting industry knowledge to translate complex practice workflows into effective software solutions.

This is a high-impact delivery role sitting at the intersection of accounting expertise and technology consulting — ideal for someone who has worked in practice and understands the pressures your clients face daily.

Day-to-day, you will:

  • Lead discovery, design, and delivery of software implementations across Access Accountants
  • Conduct detailed requirements workshops with client stakeholders to define scope, configuration requirements, and success criteria
  • Manage project delivery to agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards — including milestone tracking and risk escalation
  • Configure and validate software solutions against client workflows, including data migration, chart of accounts setup, and compliance process alignment
  • Deliver end-user training and go-live support, ensuring smooth adoption across practice teams
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client escalations, managing expectations with professionalism and accountability
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of PS delivery standards, templates, and knowledge documentation
  • Mentor junior consultants and share domain expertise across the team

Your skills and experiences might also include:

  • 5+ years' experience in consulting, implementation, or professional services role — ideally in accounting software or practice management systems – familiarity with cloud migration and SaaS onboarding processes would be ideal
  • Background in the accounting industry — prior experience working in or alongside an accounting firm is highly regarded – a degree in Accounting, Business or a related (CA.CPA) field would be advantageous
  • Strong understanding of accounting practice workflows: tax compliance, ledger management, client management, and billing
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities
  • Excellent stakeholder communication skills — comfortable presenting to partners, practice managers, and operational teams alike
  • Experience with data migration projects and system cutover planning – expertise working within a structured PS delivery methodology (SOW based engagements, project governance)
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a strong sense of client ownership

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
