About the Team

BDO's Risk Advisory Team provides a full range of contemporary risk solutions to help our clients navigate a diverse range of challenges, changes, and opportunities. The services the team provide include: 

  • Internal Audit 
  • Enterprise risk management;  
  • Board effectiveness & governance  
  • Transformation risk & assurance 
  • IT audit/risk 
  • Cyber governance, risk & compliance 
  • AI risk & governance 

About the Opportunity

 

You will work closely with Partners and Senior Management to deliver a range services to our rapidly growing client base.   You will have responsibility for leading components of client projects, leading client interactions, drafting deliverables and coaching less experienced team members. 

 

Duties and responsibilities:  

  • executing risk advisory services engagements under the guidance and support of Managers, Directors and Partners. 
  • understanding and applying the firm's quality and professional delivery standards required to deliver assurance services  
  • undertaking scheduling of work across the practice, as part of this role you will establish effective working relations with junior staff and clients 
  • supervising fieldwork and preparing written reports of a high quality and standard and work to budgets and timelines 
  • providing a coaching and mentoring role to junior staff and ensuring their ongoing development 
  • undertaking appropriate training and professional development activities related to your field of expertise 

 

About You
 
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in at least one Risk Advisory Services discipline. You will display a passion for innovation, a track record of analysing and solving problems and highly developed interpersonal skills.  

 

We are open to receiving high quality applications from those already working in professional services, those who may be looking to return after a break or those who may be looking to move from an industry role.     

 

Skills/Attributes Required: 

  • 3 years plus experience in a similar role in practice or industry 
  • A relevant degree or post graduate qualification 
  • Relevant tertiary qualification 
  • Experience in delivering internal audits, enterprise-wide risk assessments, framework reviews or IT risk/cyber reviews. 
  • Strong working knowledge of key business and IT related risks 
  • Experience with developing project scopes and statements of work Experience in process mapping, risk and control identification 
  • Exposure to latest better practices/methodologies/frameworks in regard to risk management, project management, procurement/contract management, governance, legislative compliance, IT governance, Cyber Security etc. 
  • Experience of preparing initial drafts of reports and other deliverables. 
  • Certifications or qualifications relevant to the role are preferred (CIA, CA, CPA, CISA, PRINCE2, CISM, CISSP etc.) 
  • Existing experience in the Melbourne marketplace would be advantageous.
