Job Description

Kia ora!

Air New Zealand is on an accelerated journey to deliver the best flying experience on Earth. As we continue to grow and evolve our digital customer experience, we’re looking for a Senior Commercial Product Manager – Ecommerce to lead the commercial performance and future direction of our ecommerce platforms and experiences.

This is a high-impact role at the intersection of travel, commerce, digital product, customer experience and innovation. You’ll help shape how customers discover, choose, book and manage their travel with Air New Zealand, ensuring our ecommerce experiences are commercially strong, customer-led, scalable and ready for the future.

About the Role

As Senior Commercial Product Manager – Ecommerce, you’ll own the commercial strategy, performance and growth roadmap for Air New Zealand’s direct ecommerce experiences, platforms and capabilities.

You’ll shape the future direct ecommerce strategy for the Purchase Experience Tribe, setting the direction for how our owned digital channels grow, perform and evolve as customer expectations and technology change, including emerging opportunities such as AI-enabled shopping and agentic commerce.

A key part of the role will be turning strategy into a clearly defined, value-backed roadmap. You’ll identify, size and prioritise the opportunities that will have the greatest impact on revenue, conversion, margin, attach, customer value and market competitiveness.

You’ll bring a strong commercial lens to product decisions, using experimentation, data insights and customer behaviour to shape priorities, make trade-offs and deliver measurable outcomes.

You’ll work within a cross-functional squad to deliver against this strategy, while spanning multiple business units and tribes to align on vision, priorities, dependencies and delivery of customer and commercial value.

This is a senior role requiring strong ecommerce experience, commercial acumen, product leadership and the ability to influence across a complex, fast-moving environment.

About you

  • You’ll be a commercially minded, customer-led product leader with proven experience growing successful ecommerce platforms, digital channels or commercial digital experiences.
  • You’ll bring a strong mix of strategic thinking, commercial discipline, innovation mindset and practical delivery experience. You’ll be comfortable operating at a senior level, influencing stakeholders, navigating ambiguity and turning insight into action.
  • Significant experience in ecommerce, digital product management, commercial product management, digital trading, online growth or a related field.
  • Proven experience improving ecommerce performance through initiatives that drive conversion, revenue, margin, attach, retention, customer value or platform growth.
  • Strong understanding of ecommerce platforms, digital funnels, online customer behaviour, merchandising, optimisation, experimentation and performance management.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop product strategies, commercial roadmaps, business cases and investment recommendations.
  • Experience using data and insights to identify opportunities, make decisions, influence stakeholders and measure outcomes.
  • Comfortable leading complex, cross-functional initiatives across large organisations.
  • Strong bias to action, with the ability to move from strategy to delivery while maintaining focus on outcomes.
  • Experience working with external partners, vendors, platforms or suppliers to deliver commercial outcomes.
  • Demonstrate excellent stakeholder influencing and storytelling skills, with credibility across senior leaders and diverse partners.
  • Travel, airline or tourism experience would be advantageous, but is not essential.

This is an opportunity to shape the future of direct ecommerce at one of New Zealand’s most iconic brands. You’ll help millions of customers discover, choose, book and enhance their travel more easily, while unlocking stronger commercial growth for Air New Zealand.

You’ll lead a critical product domain, working within a supportive and ambitious product community that collaborates closely to deliver meaningful outcomes for our customers and for Air New Zealand.

If you’re ready to help shape the next chapter of Air New Zealand’s digital future, apply today.

Applications close 30/07/2026.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
