We have an exciting opportunity at nbn, as the Senior Commercial Finance Manager, reporting to the Executive Manager, Commercial Finance.

A bit about your role

The Senior Commercial Finance Manager (Customer) is a key leadership role responsible for delivering high-quality commercial finance support to the Customer Business Unit and its EGM/GM leadership teams, ensuring alignment with nbn’s long-term business plan.

The role involves influencing strategic decisions through transparent financial analysis, driving financial outcomes, and contributing to overall business success.

As a senior leader, you will develop team capability, foster inclusive leadership, and champion transformational thinking. You are expected to role model nbn values, deliver results, challenge processes for improvement, and promote a growth mindset across the organization.

A bit about you

The role requires a relevant tertiary or postgraduate qualification in Finance or Accounting, with CA/CPA preferred, and experience in financial and commercial management within complex, customer-centric organizations such as Telecommunications, Infrastructure, or Technology.

Candidates must demonstrate expertise in financial reporting, analysis, modeling, and system implementation, along with strong leadership skills in strategy and operational delivery.

Advanced analytical ability, proficiency in financial systems (e.g., Hyperion), exceptional stakeholder engagement, and outstanding communication and influencing skills are essential, as well as superior planning and problem-solving capabilities.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
