Job Description
The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Network Engineer to join our team at SEEK. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, maintaining, and improving high-performance, enterprise-scale networks across both on-premises and cloud environments. You’ll work with cutting-edge technologies and play a key role in optimizing our network infrastructure to ensure SEEK’s technology foundation is secure, reliable, and scalable.
The Team:
The Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) team at SEEK ensures the resilience, security, and optimization of our technology services. We provide core networks, infrastructure, and databases, enabling SEEKers to do their best work with the tools and support they need. This team is essential in maintaining a high-performance infrastructure that supports both cloud operations and on-premise needs.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Senior Cloud Network Engineer, you’ll be focused on both cloud and on-premises networking, with some of the key responsibilities including:

Design & Optimization: You’ll design and implement network infrastructures, specifically AWS cloud networks including centralized egress, east-west traffic, and network control towers. You’ll also be involved in optimizing on-prem networks such as SDWAN, WiFi, and campus networks.

Daily Operations: Monitor and maintain the health of the network, ensuring it operates smoothly. Perform business-as-usual (BAU) tasks such as troubleshooting and resolving network issues to minimize downtime and optimize performance.

Project Management: Regularly engage with stakeholders to provide updates and discuss progress on ongoing network projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement security patterns for cloud, internal, and production networks.
- Manage the lifecycle of network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless controllers.
- Ensure network performance is optimal, with appropriate security controls in place.
- Configure and support networking between on-premises environments and Azure/AWS cloud.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver robust network solutions.
- Ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met for IT systems and services.
- Identify risks and take proactive steps to mitigate impacts to service and availability.
- Continuously evaluate and improve network processes to increase productivity and efficiency.
- Build and maintain relationships with key partners and vendors.
- Be available for on-call support and after-hours work as needed.
Qualifications
Essential Skills and Experience:

Proven Network Experience: Extensive experience working in both cloud and on-prem environments, including design, deployment, support, and documentation of network infrastructure.

On-Prem Networking Expertise: In-depth knowledge of on-premises network technologies including VXLAN, BGP-EVPN, Multicast, L3VPN, and more.

Cloud Network Expertise: Solid experience working with AWS and Azure network services such as NATGW, IGW, VGW, TGW, CloudWAN, VPC peering, and related technologies.

Cloud & On-Prem Interconnectivity: Knowledge of best practices for interconnecting cloud and on-prem networks, including VPC sharing, VPC Lattice, Private Link, Transit VPC, Network Manager, etc.

Automation & IaC: Experience with automation tools and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies such as Ansible, Python, Terraform, and CloudFormation.

Network Security: Strong understanding of network security, including firewalls (PaloAlto NGFW, Prisma), Network Access Control (NAC), and associated security controls.

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly identify and resolve complex network issues.

Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.

Collaborative & Independent Work: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team, tackling problems with a proactive approach.

Leadership & Mentorship: Ability to lead and mentor peers, providing guidance and support to help the team succeed.

Certifications: Relevant vendor certifications such as CCIE, AWS, PNCSE, or similar will be highly regarded.
