We are looking for a Senior Cloud and Systems Engineer who will be responsible for successful delivery of high-quality technological solutions to the Hub24 business. Operating within an Agile project management framework, this role collaborates with engineers, administrators, developers, analysts, and project managers.
As a leadership position within the Engineering team, the Senior Cloud and Systems Engineer actively participates in shaping the technical roadmap, offers guidance and assistance to fellow engineers, and plays a significant role in enhancing solution delivery processes.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract.
What you will do as a Senior Cloud and Systems Engineer
- Contribute to the technology roadmap and provide expertise
- Improve processes and offer technical guidance to engineers and administrators
- Make design and implementation decisions, overseeing engineers' work.
- Plan solution delivery, coordinate with teams and stakeholders, and work autonomously with other engineers
- Design solutions adhering to standards, architecture, and best practices, while maintaining relevant documentation
- Build and configure approved designs, ensuring compliance with security and regulatory requirements
- Consult and provide level 3 support in escalated situations
What you'll need to succeed:
- At least 8 years of IT experience, with a minimum of 5 years in engineering
- Hold a graduate or post-graduate qualification in information technology or a related field
- Proven track record in planning, designing, and implementing solutions
- Willing to learn Infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible and Terraform
- Familiarity or experience with scripting and automation languages such as Bash, Python, and PowerShell
- Strong background in delivering internet-facing web applications
- Proficiency in Public Cloud Platforms such as Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, and Microsoft Azure
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating system
- Experience with Active Directory
- Familiarity with IIS Web Server
- Proficiency in SQL Server
- Knowledge of VMWare virtualization technology
- Experience working with Linux operating system
- Basic understanding of networking principles related to deploying solutions, including security policies and NAT rules.
- Highly valued: Certification or specialization in a specific technology
