The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in driving digital product initiatives, with a focus on enhancing customer experiences and improving operational efficiency within the banking/financial services sector. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including product management, technology, operations, and business stakeholders to deliver innovative, data-driven solutions.
About the Role
Business Requirements Gathering: Work with business stakeholders, including product managers, senior leadership, and technical teams, to gather and document clear, comprehensive business requirements for new digital products or enhancements to existing products in financial services.
Product Roadmap Support: Collaborate with product managers to define and prioritize features for digital products based on customer needs, market trends, and business goals. Translate these into detailed functional specifications.
Process Analysis & Optimization: Analyze current business processes, workflows, and systems to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. Provide recommendations for process optimization and digital transformation initiatives.
Stakeholder Management: Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring clear communication, alignment on goals, and proper understanding of requirements. Facilitate workshops, meetings, and presentations to gather feedback and ensure project alignment.
Data-Driven Insights: Leverage data analysis and reporting to guide decision-making and assess the impact of new product features or improvements. Use KPIs, metrics, and user feedback to inform iterative product enhancements.
Quality Assurance & UAT: Develop and execute test plans for User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring new product features meet business requirements and quality standards before release.
Risk Management & Compliance: Ensure that digital products and features adhere to relevant regulatory and compliance requirements, especially within financial services (e.g., GDPR, PSD2, PCI-DSS).
Documentation & Reporting: Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation for product requirements, user stories, and use cases. Prepare regular progress reports for stakeholders.
About you
We’re looking for someone with:
Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience as a Business Analyst in digital product development, with a focus on financial services or fintech.
Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of the financial services industry, including banking, Fixed Interest or investment products. Familiarity with regulatory frameworks.
Technical Proficiency: Comfortable working with digital tools and platforms. Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology, as well as experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, or similar project management and collaboration tools.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex business needs into clear and actionable requirements for technical teams.
Problem-Solving & Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically about business processes, product features, and user experiences.
Stakeholder Engagement: Proven experience in managing relationships with both business and technical stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Education: A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field. A certification such as CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or similar is a plus.
Project Lifecycle Involvement – something along the lines of having experience across the project lifecycle? requirements gathering, analysis, design, implementation, testing, and go-live support
Preferred Skills:
Experience in the Banking, Debt Capital Markets, Funds Management or online financial platforms.
Familiarity with UX/UI principles and customer-centric design.
Knowledge of data analytics tools and techniques (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Power BI).
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Master’s degree or additional certifications in business analysis or project management is a plus.
