We are now seeking an experienced Senior Bid Manager to lead strategic bids and help drive our long‑term growth across the Australian market.
About the Role
As the Senior Bid Manager, you will lead the end-to-end bid process for high-value, strategic opportunities. You will shape client engagement strategies, guide multidisciplinary teams, and deliver competitive, compelling proposals that reflect ACCIONA’s excellence and innovation.
Reporting to senior leadership, this role requires a seasoned professional with strong commercial acumen, technical understanding, and the ability to influence outcomes at a high level. You will collaborate with teams across Australia and Spain to secure major infrastructure and water projects.
Client Engagement & Strategy
Develop and refine strategies for client engagement and messaging.
Build long-term strategic relationships with key clients.
Anticipate future client needs through proactive market engagement.
Represent ACCIONA as a trusted advisor in industry forums.
Business Strategy & Project Selection
Identify emerging markets and new sectors through analysis and assessment.
Support vertical integration strategies and whole‑of‑business approaches.
Shape long-term business strategy based on market insights.
Bid Leadership
Lead the entire bid lifecycle from initiation to submission.
Establish best‑practice bid management frameworks and tools.
Mentor and guide bid teams on complex tender processes.
Drive innovation in bid efficiency, quality, and delivery.
Governance & Approvals
Prepare governance documents for complex bids.
Manage approval workflows and ensure governance compliance.
Liaise with executive stakeholders in Australia and Spain.
Commercial & Contractual Management
Integrate commercial modelling and risk analysis into bid strategy.
Negotiate consultant and partner agreements.
Review tender documents and contracts.
Develop financial deliverables, costings, and cashflows.
Cross‑Functional Coordination
Coordinate technical, engineering, operations, commissioning, and risk teams.
Manage partner and third‑party deliverables.
Attend site visits and lead kick‑off meetings.
Oversee preparation of technical and commercial documentation.
Post‑Bid Activities
Lead project defenses and clarifications.
Document lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.
Required Skills And Competencies
Required Skills and Competencies
Education: Engineering, Economics, or Business Administration; master’s degree desirable.
Experience: Between 10 and 20 years in managing infrastructure tenders.
Skills: Team coordination, project management, and executive communication.
Specific knowledge: Public procurement processes, bid structuring, and tender budget control.
