About the Role

As a Senior Associate on the International New Verticals Strategy & Operations team, you will own developing our selection strategy for new & emerging business lines and leading commercial modelling for our negotiations across existing & new partnerships for Australia and New Zealand. You’ll support at key moments across the full cycle of a merchant including sizing TAM for new business segment, defining Sales lead list priorities, setting commercial rates, building out sales intelligence materials, supporting go-to-market efforts for new merchants, managing contractual commitments, supporting in re-negotiations, as well as so much more. 

This role is a true mix of strategy and operations, combining strategic planning and analysis with hands-on operational execution. Reporting into the GM of New Verticals for ANZ, you will work cross-functionally with business development, account management, product, analytics, finance, and strategy & operations, while also individually driving key workstreams forward. You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
  • Strategise. From first principles, you’ll develop and execute our selection strategy for new and existing business lines, ultimately making the case for which new category, sub category, or service we’ll launch on the platform next and how we’ll enter.  
  • Analyse. You’ll leverage advanced AI platforms in combination with traditional analytical skills to do detailed analysis that leverages data and learnings from our global organisation to help us determine where and how we should accelerate within existing verticals. You’ll assess the operational and financial impacts of our decisions, and iterate based on your analysis. 
  • Operate. You’ll own tracking, execution, and iteration on the management of our commercial processes, ensuring we’re organised to tackle modelling every new deal, strategise for each renegotiation, and fully satisfy all contractual commitments. You’re excited to own your role, including everything from high-level strategy to nitty-gritty details. 
  • Communicate. You’ll help bridge the gap between strategy & operations and sales teams, ensuring each group understands and is working towards delivering on each other's top priorities. You’re a clear communicator and collaborator - you can explain what the numbers mean, align stakeholders, and turn insights into practical recommendations.
We’re excited about you because…
  • You have 3+ years experience in sales strategy & operations, sales planning, consulting, analytics, corporate strategy, banking, technology or a related field, with a track record of delivering initiatives and helping teams hit goals.  Experience in commercial and financial modelling will also be an asset to a new starter in this role.  
  • You are an organised self-starter: You have a bias for action and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment. You take ownership, follow through, and can prioritise effectively in a fast-moving environment (even when things aren’t perfectly defined).  You thrive when building processes and organising projects and workstreams. 
  • You are a problem solver: You have a talent for synthesising complex problems, can translate high-level goals into actionable plans, and enjoy implementing a process.
  • Proven analytical skills: You have a working knowledge of SQL to be able to quickly pull data and conduct deep-dive analyses into specific issues.  You’re extremely comfortable using Excel / Google Sheets day-to-day to keep teams aligned (e.g., building trackers, weekly performance summaries) and have no problem whipping up a detailed model to size complex initiatives. You’re excited to leverage advanced AI platforms to further enhance your analytical and strategic work.
