We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Architect to join our dynamic Guidewire Professional Services team in ANZ. Key ResponsibilitiesSolution Architecture & Design: Design and oversee end-to-end technical architectures that solve complex business problems, incorporating best practices and emerging technologies. This includes architecting and customizing sophisticated systems and platforms to meet detailed business requirements, ensuring scalability, robustness, reliability, and performance. Lead enterprise-wide architectural decisions and technical strategy, establishing technical standards, patterns, and best practices.
Systems Integration & Development: Manage and ensure the seamless integration of multiple platforms, tools, and systems. This includes designing and developing microservices that integrate with Guidewire applications, with rapid prototyping of new insurance features or workflows, and leveraging Generative AI to enhance underwriting, claims processing, and customer service. Guide API and microservices strategies.
Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Influence and lead development teams in writing, testing, and maintaining high-quality code and configurations. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers, senior architects, and technical leads. Drive innovation and emerging technology adoption, championing architectural governance and compliance.
Strategic Planning: Develop long-term (3-5 year) technology roadmaps, aligning technical solutions with business objectives. Evaluate Guidewire services for strategic fit and contribute to enterprise transformation initiatives. Guide cloud adoption and migration strategies.
Documentation & Standards: Produce comprehensive technical documentation, roadmaps, and architecture blueprints. Create architectural documentation standards and maintain an enterprise architecture repository.
Performance Optimization & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve critical system issues, ensuring performance, security, and efficiency improvements. Oversee system performance optimization and monitor solution performance KPIs.
Stakeholder Management: Partner with C-level executives on strategic initiatives, collaborate with business units to understand requirements, and lead technical discussions with customers and partners.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and guide disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
Project Oversight: Review major project architectures, guide project teams on technical decisions, and ensure architectural consistency across projects.
Languages: Fluent business-level English is essential; additional language skills are highly valued.
Industry Knowledge: Deep knowledge of the insurance value chain, particularly in front-office and mid-office processes. Familiarity with insurance and/or financial services industry processes and regulations in APAC.
Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira and Confluence.
Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Software Implementation: Proven track record of leading large-scale software implementation projects, with expertise in translating complex business requirements into detailed functional specifications.
Transformational Leadership: Strong ability to consult with customers and lead transformation initiatives, aligning business objectives with innovative solutions using the Guidewire Cloud Platform.
Configuration and Customization: Configuring Guidewire applications to align with business requirements, including setting up products that cover the full insurance lifecycle.
Rapid Prototyping: Utilizing Java/GOSU (or equivalent) to quickly develop and test new insurance features or workflows, create proof-of-concept (POCs), and validate ideas.
Microservices Development: Designing and developing microservices that integrate with Guidewire applications, with proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS).
CI/CD: Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment practices using tools like TeamCity or Jenkins, and version control using Git.
GenAI Integration: Leveraging Generative AI to enhance underwriting, claims processing, and customer service, including building or integrating GenAI models.
AI-Driven Decision Support: Building machine learning models or integrating pre-built AI models to enhance decision-making processes within Guidewire systems.
API Development and Integration: Use Java/GOSU to build or extend APIs that connect Guidewire systems to external platforms or services.

Enhanced Automation.
8-10 years of experience in insurance or technology-related roles.
Expertise in leading implementation projects and providing innovative, customer-centric solutions.
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
Guidewire Certifications.
Relevant AWS and Java Certifications.
