Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Agile Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of high-impact software and digital projects. This role is ideal for a proven Agile leader who can drive delivery in complex, multi-stakeholder environments, including government and regulated industries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Agile project management, stakeholder engagement, and navigating structured governance processes while maintaining flexibility and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Agile delivery of software and digital projects, ensuring teams deliver high-value outcomes within structured environments.
  • Develop and manage delivery roadmaps, ensuring clear objectives, dependencies, and reporting structures.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, external partners, and senior stakeholders to align project goals and ensure successful outcomes.
  • Navigate governance and assurance frameworks, balancing Agile ways of working with necessary oversight and compliance.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders, ensuring alignment of project objectives with broader strategic goals.
  • Identify and mitigate risks across the project lifecycle, ensuring effective decision-making.
  • Drive continuous improvement in Agile delivery, fostering a culture of adaptability and efficiency.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and contracts, ensuring effective allocation and accountability.
  • Support and mentor delivery teams in Agile best practices, embedding effective ways of working.
  • Provide clear and concise project updates to senior leadership and key decision-makers.

Qualifications


  • Proven experience leading Agile projects in government, public sector, or other structured, regulated environments.
  • Strong understanding of governance, procurement, and assurance processes, with the ability to balance Agile delivery with compliance requirements.
  • Expertise in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and their practical application in structured organisations.
  • Experience working with cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams across departments, suppliers, and external agencies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience presenting to senior executives and decision-makers.
  • Familiarity with PRINCE2 Agile, ITIL, or similar governance frameworks is advantageous.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills to drive project success and continuous improvement.
