Job Description

As a Senior Acquisition Sales Specialist, you will be an experienced sales professional with a strong background in complex security sales engagements. Your business development knowledge and strong client partnering will allow you to drive successful security revenue, contribute to EBITDA and deliver on key go-to-market strategies.

This is a customer-facing role responsible for driving cybersecurity sales and engagement within Enterprise accounts throughout Australia.

Your key responsibilities for this role will involve:

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans, manage client relationships end-to-end, coordinate with internal stakeholders, and drive opportunity close plans to achieve sales targets.

  • Build and nurture relationships with key security technology partners, including their sales, channel, and technical teams. Engage in joint account planning, identify collaborative sales opportunities, and align with partner qualification frameworks such as MEDDICC.

  • Provide expert support to other Telstra sales teams on security-related opportunities, including assistance with bids, technical inputs, commercial structuring, and deal closure.

  • Own and manage Security Account Plans for all target customers within your territory. Accurately forecast and track sales opportunities, meet reporting requirements, and maintain data integrity within Telstra’s CRM platform, Phoenix.

  • Represent Telstra at industry events, roundtables, and thought leadership sessions to drive business development and enhance brand visibility.

  •  Contribute to the evolution of Telstra’s security sales capability by leading initiatives focused on solution design, negotiation strategies, and sales delivery improvements.

About You

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Extensive Cybersecurity Sales Experience: Minimum of five years in enterprise-level cybersecurity sales, with a strong track record of success.

  • Proven Ability to Sell Complex Solutions: Demonstrated success in selling sophisticated cybersecurity products and services to large, multifaceted organizations.

  • Executive-Level Engagement: Skilled in building relationships and influencing C-level executives and senior decision-makers.

  • Strategic Account Management: Capable of leading and managing large-scale customer engagements focused on cybersecurity needs and outcomes.

  • Vendor Collaboration: Experience working effectively with key technology partners to deliver integrated solutions.

  • Cross-Functional Teamwork: Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders, particularly the Telstra client partner community, to develop strategies and address customer requirements.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
