Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and driven Selling Manager to join our Dutton One retail site in Essendon, VIC.

This is an exciting opportunity for a high-performing automotive sales professional who thrives in a hands-on leadership role. As a Selling Manager, you will lead by example, combining your own sales performance with the coaching, mentoring, and development of a sales team to achieve exceptional results.

You will have access to an outstanding inventory of luxury and premium vehicles and play a key role in driving the continued success of one of Australia's fastest-growing automotive retail groups.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading from the front by actively selling vehicles and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Managing, coaching, and motivating the sales team to achieve and exceed individual and dealership sales targets.
  • Monitoring team performance and implementing strategies to maximise sales conversion and profitability.
  • Developing new business opportunities while nurturing existing customer relationships to generate repeat and referral business.
  • Supporting customers throughout the vehicle purchasing journey and ensuring a seamless sales experience.
  • Ensuring adherence to sales processes, business policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Working collaboratively with Finance & Insurance and Aftercare teams to maximise customer outcomes and dealership performance.
  • Maintaining strong market awareness and staying informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and customer needs.
  • Creating a high-performance sales culture built on accountability, customer service excellence, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience in an automotive Selling Manager, Sales Manager, Senior Sales Consultant, or similar leadership role.
  • Strong automotive sales experience, ideally within luxury, prestige, premium, or used vehicle markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing sales teams.
  • A proven track record of consistently achieving and exceeding sales, profitability, and conversion targets.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify opportunities to grow revenue and market share.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with a customer-first approach.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • The drive, energy, and resilience to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
  • Experience managing customer concerns and resolving issues while balancing customer satisfaction and business objectives.
  • High levels of professionalism, presentation, and personal accountability.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • A current and valid driver's licence.
