We put our people and customers at the heart of everything we do. Our agility means we can say ‘yes’ when others say ‘no’, delivering personalised banking that helps businesses access the funding they need, when they need it. Relationships matter here – with our customers and with each other.

Our culture – a multi‑award‑winning place to work

We firmly believe that culture eats strategy for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and that the most important investment we can make is in our people. Our values of Trust, Teamwork, Accountability and Performance guide how we work every day

Our vision is to build a world-class SME business bank and it’s our people that can make it happen.

Job Description

Now, about this opportunity…

As our Security Architect, you'll play a critical role in shaping and strengthening Judo's security posture as we continue to grow and evolve our technology landscape.

Reporting to our Chief Information Security Officer, you'll work across Technology, Data & Operations to ensure security is embedded into how we design, build and operate systems. You'll partner closely with engineers, architects, technology leaders and risk teams to provide practical, risk-based security guidance that enables innovation while protecting the bank, our customers and our people.

This is an exciting opportunity to help influence the future direction of cybersecurity at Judo, bringing modern architectural thinking, strong stakeholder engagement and a security-first mindset to key strategic initiatives.

If that excites you, this just might be your dream job:

  • Defining and maintaining security architecture standards, patterns and principles across the organisation
  • Providing security design guidance and assurance for technology initiatives, projects and platform changes
  • Partnering with solution architects, engineers and technology leaders to embed security into the software development lifecycle
  • Conducting architecture and design reviews to identify security risks and recommend pragmatic mitigation strategies
  • Supporting cloud security architecture across AWS and cloud-native environments
  • Contributing to security roadmaps and strategic initiatives that strengthen Judo's cyber resilience
  • Evaluating emerging technologies, threats and industry trends to inform security decision-making
  • Collaborating with risk, compliance and audit stakeholders to ensure security controls support regulatory obligations
  • Promoting a culture of security awareness and secure-by-design thinking across the organisation
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, balancing business objectives with effective risk management

Qualifications

You’ll likely bring:

  • Significant experience in Security Architecture, Cyber Security Engineering or a related security leadership role
  • Strong understanding of security frameworks, architecture principles and risk management practices
  • Experience securing cloud environments, ideally AWS-based platforms
  • Knowledge of modern application security practices, identity and access management, data protection and infrastructure security
  • Experience providing security assurance and advice across complex technology environments
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • A practical, risk-based approach that enables business outcomes while maintaining strong security standards
  • Curiosity, adaptability and a commitment to continuous learning
  • A collaborative, relationship-led approach aligned with Judo's culture and values

If you don’t meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply – your experience, mindset and potential matter to us.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
