Who You Are:We are looking for an "A-Player" experienced writer for EYstreem (13M+ Subscribers). You are experienced working within and contributing to a talented creative team. You can manage team efficiencies, workloads and deadlines; and know how to inspire the audience with innovative and compelling stories.
Your Responsibilities and Skills:Storyboard and Skeleton Planning: Constructing synopsis and summary structures for upcoming scripts for review and pre-production feasibility scoping.
Script Writing: Weekly production of new scripts in adherence to screenplay formatting and internal formatting SOPs for effective use by all production departments.
Proactive Production Communication and Collaboration: Frequent check-ins, constructive feedback and active teamwork with each stage of production and department to ensure creative continuity as the project is passed from one team to another.
YouTube Research: Regular consumption and viewing of content across the YouTube platform for unique ideas and outliers from both adjacent and nonadjacent audiences and competitors.
External Research: Regular consumption, viewing and engagement of pop culture, content and trends from social media platforms, film and TV, traditional media and changing real-life preferences and habits.
Internal Metric Analysis: Analyze key metrics of success such as views, AVD, AVP, CTR, Impressions, etc to identify successful content patterns, areas for improvement and elements to repeat to inform scripting
Preparation and Presentation: Organise and format your work for presentation to colleagues and supervisors in a clear, visual, effective and concise manner.
Post-Mortem Participation: Identify and analyse successful patterns and areas for improvement across all areas of production, and incorporate solutions into future scripts.
Feedback Implementation: Effective incorporate and adapt to feedback from showrunners, producers and seniors into writing processes, ensuring alignment with channel objectives, SOPs and vision.
Historical Synthesis: You have a strong historical knowledge of Film and TV, YouTube and Traditional Media which you use to synthesise compelling storytelling with successful patterns from internal and external historical content combined with new or trending concepts to formulate ideas that are fresh, but with a high chance of success and reach.
Deadline Management and Organization: Adhere to project deadlines and maintain organizational systems and calendars to ensure timely completion of tasks, facilitating smooth project progression.
1-2 years of experience on YouTube; at least 6 months experience writing.
Strong communication and proactive initiative.
Ability to meet and understand deadlines.
Ability to comprehend feedback and implement it.
Experience and willingness to use and implement AI tools (Claude Code, Gemini, etc)
Calendar and time management skills
Historical knowledge of Film and TV, YouTube, Social Media, Pop Culture and Traditional Media
Basic understanding of Minecraft and/or Live Action YouTube content
Frequently consuming content of all types.
Able to ideate both within parameters and blue-sky.
Fast learning and SOP adherence skills.
Strong documentation skills.
Deep understanding of Minecraft (i.e. Mods, Maps, Mechanics, etc)
Experience in other Minecraft or YouTube specific roles (e.g. Editor, Actor, etc)
Worked with other major players in the YouTube industry, specifically in the Minecraft niche (e.g. MrBeast, PrestonPlayz (TBNR), Aphmau (CatFace), etc)
Created content for your own YouTube channel.
