About Us

Buildsafe is a market leader in height safety systems and solutions for the building and construction industry. Our innovative product range includes guardrail edge protection, void protection systems, working platforms, site surveillance, and scaffolding.

We're known for doing things properly — backing our crews, maintaining high safety standards, and providing real long-term career opportunities.

Safety is number one. Every day, for every worker.

The Role

We're looking for an experienced Scaffold Manager to take ownership of scaffold operations from end to end — from the moment a job lands through to a quality install on site. You'll lead the crews, drive the workflow, and own the outcomes: safety, quality, and branch performance.

What You'll Be Doing

**Safety & Compliance**

- Driving a strong safety culture and ensuring full compliance with Buildsafe policies, procedures, and legislative requirements

- Conducting site audits with high attention to detail and attending site meetings as required

- Ensuring all training, competencies, and high-risk work tickets across the team are current and maintained

**Job Lifecycle & Planning**

- Managing the full job workflow from PO receipt through to installation — including wrap scaffold projects

- Reviewing scaffold CADs and working with drafting, estimating, and customer service teams to ensure designs are completed and validated ahead of booking lead times

- Chasing down missing job information (site location, scope of works, build plans) with site supervisors and sales to keep jobs moving through drafting

- Modelling jobs, selecting and allocating labour with a focus on cost efficiency, and raising purchase orders for labour and transport

- Building job calendars and communicating schedules to all relevant parties

- Conducting pre-site inspections once CADs are confirmed, and communicating detailed project specifications to clients and internal teams

**Delivery & Performance**

- Overseeing quality installation of scaffold and height safety systems, with clear handover to install crews and support from area supervisors where required

- Ensuring accurate and timely data entry

- Monitoring job performance, invoicing accuracy, and branch profitability

- Ensuring all reporting, documentation, and operational compliance requirements are met

- Acting as a professional Buildsafe representative with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders

About You

**The "Must Haves"**

- Proven leadership experience within scaffolding, construction, or height safety

- Scaffolding qualifications and relevant high-risk work tickets

- Ability to lead by example and hold teams accountable

- Strong organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills

- Experience managing operational performance, compliance, and documentation

- A valid driver's licence

**The "Nice to Haves"**

- Ability to read and interpret scaffold CADs and technical drawings

- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of job profitability

- Experience working with digital reporting systems and operational software

What We Can Offer You

- A leadership role with real autonomy and responsibility

- Competitive salary package aligned with experience

- A stable, growing business with a strong pipeline of work

- Support from a wider leadership and operations team

- Clear career progression and development opportunities

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
