We are seeking a highly skilled CDS Developer with strong hands‑on experience in S/4HANA development, ABAP CDS, HANA modelling, and modern SAP data frameworks. In this role, you will design and build complex CDS views, optimise data models, create OData services, and support analytics, reporting, and Fiori‑based applications.
You will work closely with functional consultants, solution architects, and technical stakeholders to deliver scalable, performant, and maintainable data models across SAP S/4HANA environments. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about Code‑to‑Data principles, advanced CDS annotations, and delivering high‑quality technical outcomes in a consulting environment.
This role can be performed fully remotely from anywhere in Australia or New Zealand, with occasional travel for key project activities.
Key Responsibilities- S/4HANA Development: Develop and enhance standard and custom CDS views using annotations, associations, and table functions.
- CDS Modelling: Design and build Basic, Composite, and Consumption CDS views that support analytical and transactional use cases.
- OData & Fiori Integration: Expose CDS views as OData services and support Fiori UI integration for analytical and reporting scenarios.
- ABAP on HANA: Use Object‑Oriented ABAP, including SQL Script via AMDP, to support complex reporting and backend logic.
- Performance Optimisation: Apply Code‑to‑Data techniques to push calculations to the HANA DB and optimise runtime performance.
- Lifecycle Management: Create technical documentation, perform unit testing, support SIT/UAT cycles, and manage transport progression across landscapes.
- Strong proficiency in ABAP CDS, SAP HANA modelling, and ABAP on HANA.
- Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), BOBJ/WebI, or Analysis for Office.
- Understanding of RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP) and Fiori Elements.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent experience.
- Proven hands‑on development experience in SAP S/4HANA environments.
- Exposure to ECC to S/4HANA conversion projects.
- Experience in SAP BW, SAP Side‑Car HANA, or Datasphere.
- Understanding of SAP BDC and legacy data processes.
- Strong knowledge of the S/4HANA Virtual Data Model (VDM).
- Ability to troubleshoot performance issues using SAP performance analysis tools.
- Work with SAP’s latest technologies on cloud such as S/4HANA, BTP and Joule
