About the Role

We are seeking an experienced SAP BTP Integration Lead to join our consulting team and deliver enterprise‑grade integration solutions across SAP and non‑SAP landscapes. You will lead the design, development, and governance of integrations using SAP BTP Integration Suite, including CPI, API Management, Event Mesh, and modern integration patterns.

In this role, you will work closely with cross‑functional technical teams, solution architects, and customer stakeholders to shape integration strategy, facilitate workshops, guide interface design, and drive quality outcomes across the entire delivery lifecycle — from requirements to go‑live and beyond.

This is a hands‑on leadership role suited to a seasoned SAP integration expert with strong consulting capability, technical depth, and the ability to influence architectural direction for customers undergoing SAP S/4HANA, cloud, and hybrid transformations.

This role offers complete location flexibility and can be performed remotely from anywhere in Australia or New Zealand, with occasional travel for project milestones.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and delivery of SAP BTP Integration Suite solutions including CPI iFlows, APIs, B2B/EDI integrations, and event‑driven architectures.
  • Architect and implement end‑to‑end integration scenarios across SAP S/4HANA, SAP Cloud applications, and non‑SAP systems.
  • Develop, test, and optimise integration flows, mappings, routing logic, error handling, and performance tuning.
  • Design and govern APIs using SAP API Management, ensuring policy control, security, and lifecycle management.
  • Facilitate workshops, gather and validate requirements, and translate them into scalable, high‑quality technical designs.
  • Drive integration modernisation initiatives, including migration away from SAP PI/PO and legacy middleware to SAP BTP Integration Suite.
  • Ensure secure integrations through strong adherence to authentication models, encryption standards, and integration governance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues across multi‑system environments.
  • Mentor junior team members, perform code reviews, and uphold integration best practices.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation including design specs, mappings, and operational support guides.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 5–8+ years of SAP integration experience with deep hands‑on expertise in SAP BTP Integration Suite and SAP CPI.
  • Strong background implementing integration flows, APIs, mappings, and adapters (REST, SOAP, OData, IDoc, JMS, SFTP, AS2).
  • Experience delivering integration across SAP S/4HANA, SAP Cloud applications, and non‑SAP systems in both A2A and B2B scenarios.
  • Competency with SAP API Management including governance, security policies, and API lifecycle management.
  • Exposure to event‑driven patterns and SAP Event Mesh.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex integration challenges.
  • Excellent consulting, communication, and workshop facilitation skills.
  • SAP integration certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Development Associate – SAP Cloud Platform Integration) are highly regarded.
  • Full‑time permanent candidates only; we are not seeking contractors.
What We Offer
  • Work with SAP’s latest technologies on cloud such as S/4HANA, BTP and Joule
  • A flexible and supportive work environment including the ability to work from anywhere in Australia or New Zealand
  • Competitive remuneration and benefits including novated lease, birthday leave, salary packaging, wellbeing programme, additional purchased leave, and company-provided laptop
  • Comprehensive SAP training and certifications
  • Join a renowned organisation delivering projects to some of APAC's leading enterprises

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
