SAP BASIS Consultant / SAP Platform Consultant

Endeavour Group demerged from Woolworths in 2021. As part of the transition, it is taking the opportunity to transform its operations as an independent business and establish supporting technology. This role is required to support the ERP Transition from Woolworths to EGL.

Overview:

The Platform consultant is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and optimization of SAP systems, especially within the context of the RISE with SAP program. This includes tasks like system installation, configuration, monitoring, upgrades, performance tuning, and security management, with a focus on the technical aspects of SAP landscapes. They play a key role in cloud migrations, integration with SAP BTP, and ensuring compliance within the SAP environment. 

This role is also responsible for Environment planning and release management of Core SAP systems and its Non-SAP satellites. Working closely with the test managers and technical leads, this role is responsible for mapping the environments and developing a roadmap for the program.

Responsibilities:

System Management:
Installing, configuring, and maintaining SAP systems, including NetWeaver, S/4HANA, and Java-based components. 

Environment Plans and Roadmap:
Leading and supporting RISE with SAP projects, including cloud migration planning, readiness checks, and cutover execution. 

Cloud Migration & Integration:
Leading and supporting RISE with SAP projects, including cloud migration planning, readiness checks, and cutover execution. 

SAP BTP Management:
Administering and monitoring SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) environments, including subaccounts, services, and trust configurations. 

Security & Authorization:
Implementing and managing Single Sign-On (SSO), user administration, and other security-related tasks, ensuring compliance with internal and external audits. 

Performance Tuning & Monitoring:
Regularly monitoring system performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to optimize system efficiency. 

System Upgrades & Maintenance:
Planning and executing SAP system upgrades, patching, and maintenance activities. 

Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution:
Diagnosing and resolving technical issues within the SAP environment, working with various teams to ensure timely resolution. 

Documentation & Communication:
Creating and maintaining technical documentation, including design specifications, procedures, and operational dashboards. 

Collaboration:
Working closely with functional consultants, developers, and infrastructure teams to ensure a seamless and efficient SAP landscape. 

Presales Support:
Supporting presales activities by providing technical expertise on RISE with SAP solutions. 

Project Leadership:
Leading and coordinating SAP Basis projects, including installations, migrations, and upgrades. 

Technical Consulting:
Advising customers and colleagues on SAP RISE configurations, integrations, and best practices. 
 

Essential Skills:

⦁ 7+ years of Platform foundations for ERP systems.

⦁ Strong technical skills in SAP Basis administration and environment management, including system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

⦁ Experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP NetWeaver, and SAP BTP.

⦁ Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) is highly desirable.

⦁ Strong understanding of SAP security concepts, including SSO and authorization management.

⦁ Knowledge of Fiori Launchpad Configuration, SAP Readiness Check and ODATA service setup.

⦁ Experience with database management (HANA, Oracle, etc.) is also important.

⦁ Knowledge of Hana DB Installation, Configuration, Backup and Recovery.

⦁ Hana sizing, performance tuning and configuration.

⦁ Familiarity with Cloud Connector, SAP ALM and Cloud Transport Management.

⦁ Managing Global Accounts, Sub Accounts and Cloud Foundry Org and Space.

⦁ Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, and DevOps practices.

⦁ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

⦁ Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.

⦁ Analytical, results-driven and a solution-oriented way of work.

⦁ Team player with excellent communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing technical challenges.

⦁ Experience working in agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams

Desirable

⦁ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

⦁ Working knowledge of ITIL and Agile

⦁ Highly organized with strong activity and resource planning skills.

⦁ SAP Basis and S/4HANA certifications are advantageous.

⦁ Experience with SAP RISE projects, including cloud migrations and integrations, is highly desirable.
