The OpportunityAs a Sales Engineer on the Superhuman Education team, you will be a key partner to Account Executives working with higher education institutions—helping colleges, universities, and K-12 organizations understand how Superhuman can support student success, faculty productivity, and institutional writing standards. You’ll play a central role in building a successful and scalable sales motion in the education market, from first demo to signed deal and expansion.
In this role, you will:
Support Account Executives in identifying prospects' needs and aligning Superhuman’s solutions to the strategic goals of higher education and K-12 institutions
Prepare and deliver tailored demos for Higher Education audiences—showcasing Superhuman’s writing assistance, tone detection, and AI capabilities in academic and administrative contexts
Run successful POCs (proofs of concept) that build customer confidence and accelerate deal close
Interface with security and IT stakeholders to articulate Superhuman’s security posture and navigate technical reviews
Explain integration capabilities—including APIs, MCPs, and agentic AI workflows—to technical buyers and decision-makers
Complete RFPs and respond to technical questionnaires for competitive opportunities
Collaborate with peers to continuously improve SE processes, demo assets, and POC frameworks
Contribute to team knowledge through documentation, mentorship, and cross-functional enablement within the Higher Education segment
Has 3+ years of experience in a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or technical pre-sales role in a SaaS environment
Has previous experience selling into higher education institutions (colleges, universities, or K-12)
Has familiarity with agentic AI concepts, MCP (Model Context Protocol), or API-based integrations—able to speak credibly about modern AI architectures with technical buyers
Is passionate about working with prospects and customers to find solutions and close deals
Works effectively with Security and IT stakeholders to meet technical requirements and build client confidence
Applies an understanding of SaaS business models to identify and shape solutions; uses data to tell a compelling value story
Communicates effectively across technical and executive audiences
Is willing to travel occasionally to visit prospective clients and attend industry events (~25% travel)
Has a demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal guidance, proactively manages tasks and priorities across multiple projects, analyzes and executes work efficiently, collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams, and thrives in fast-paced, results-driven environments.

Superhuman takes a market-based approach to compensation, so base pay may vary by location. Our US locations are categorized into two compensation zones based on proximity to our hub locations.
Base pay may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The expected “On-Target Earnings” (OTE) for this role are outlined by compensation zone and may be modified in the future. The commission portion for this role will be 30% of the On-Target Earnings (OTE).
