The Role

Lyrebird Health is growing rapidly, and we’re building out our Sales function. As a Sales Development Representative (SDR), you’ll be responsible for creating the first meaningful connection between clinicians and Lyrebird. You’ll engage prospective doctors and practices, understand their world, spark curiosity, and convert early interest into high-quality demos for our sales team.

This is a high-impact, front-of-house role. You’ll shape first impressions, set the tone for the relationship, and play a critical role in our growth engine.

About us

Lyrebird Health is transforming the quality and accessibility of healthcare by automating clinicians’ most time-consuming tasks. Thousands of clinicians across many disciplines already use Lyrebird - and that number is increasing every day.

Clinicians trust us to deliver a fast, reliable, and secure experience. We value that trust above all else and work hard to earn it while continuing to amaze our users.

What you'll do

  • Proactively engage clinicians and practices via outbound and inbound channels
  • Research accounts and personalise outreach so conversations are relevant and thoughtful
  • Qualify interest by understanding workflow challenges, needs, and timing
  • Book high-quality demos with genuinely curious, well-qualified clinicians
  • Act as the first product ambassador — explaining Lyrebird clearly and confidently
  • Handle objections with empathy, curiosity, and credibility
  • Maintain accurate pipeline hygiene in CRM
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, and Product on messaging and insights
  • Continuously refine outreach based on what you’re learning in the market

About you

  • You enjoy starting conversations and building rapport quickly
  • You’re naturally curious — you like understanding problems before pitching solutions
  • Comfortable speaking with doctors and clinical staff in a warm, respectful way
  • Strong communicator: concise, confident, and thoughtful on calls and in writing
  • Resilient and motivated — you understand that great outreach takes persistence
  • Able to manage volume without losing quality or personalisation
  • Organised, reliable, and comfortable working toward clear activity and conversion goals
  • Curious about technology and able to learn a product deeply
  • Comfortable working in a fast-growing, evolving startup environment

Why join Lyrebird?

At Lyrebird, we don’t just write code — you’ll help shape the future of the human experience. If you want to pioneer, learn fast, and see your work directly impact people’s lives, we’d love to hear from you. We’re building a team that reflects the diversity of the people who benefit from our work. If you’re from an underrepresented background in tech, we especially encourage you to apply — even if you don’t meet every requirement.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
