About the role:

As the Safety & Wellbeing Operations Manager - Manufacturing and Specialty Business, you will lead the implementation of the Safety and Wellbeing strategy and provide dedicated support across our Supply Chain, Frame & Truss sites and Specialty Business units.

 

You'll provide leadership, advice and technical support to continuously identify, manage and reduce risk across the business.

 

In this role, you will take a proactive approach to ensuring safety and wellbeing remains the highest priority by providing consistent coaching and creating and promoting practices and processes, with the aim of increasing leadership capability across the team. 

 

What's involved:

  • Partnering with the business to provide advice, coaching and support on the execution and implementation of safety and wellbeing strategy, influencing at every level using strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Support the prioritisation of projects and tasks to support the teams with their strategy
  • Support leaders and the team in investigating and managing incidents.
  • Challenging the current way of doing things to simplify ways of work for the end user while proactively identifying and reducing risk
  • Provide technical safety advice to the function and stakeholders to make strategic decisions with the safest outcomes.
  • Support key business initiatives from a safety and wellbeing perspective, aligning to Bunnings Safety and Wellbeing strategy

 

Who we’re looking for:

 

You are a leader in the Safety field and have technical safety experience within a Manufacturing or Supply Chain setting. You will have a comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of how to interpret Health and Safety Legislation, particularly within the Manufacturing environment.

 

You’ll be a confident leader, being able to use your safety expertise to build strong relationships and influence key stakeholders, inspire action and behavioural change.

 

You’ll need:

  • Significant demonstrated experience in safety & wellbeing in a complex environment
  • Tertiary qualification in health and safety, injury management, or related discipline is essential
  • Technical safety experience in Manufacturing or Supply Chain
  • Sound working knowledge of health, safety and wellbeing management systems and legislation, including delivery of new systems within a business
  • Strong planning and organisations skills and a high level of attention to detail
  • ICAM training or experience utilising the ICAM methodology would be advantageous. 

Please note travel to our site locations as well as some interstate travel will be required for this role.
