We are currently recruiting for an experienced Safety Advisor to join our well established Health, Safety & Sustainability division. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based out of our Acacia Ridge, QLD office.
The key responsibilities of this role will include, but not be limited to:
- Provide expert advice and assistance to facilitate a safe working environment and ensure that all work practices are in accordance with Company policy and recognised and legislated Work Health & Safety regulations and procedures
- Inspect or evaluate workplace environments, equipment or practices to ensure compliance
- Assist with pre-shift work planning, scheduling and inspections
- Assist in the contribution and implementation of the Safety Management System in accordance to Hastings Deering and legislative requirements
- Facilitate Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM) investigations as required
- Facilitate incident investigation, reporting and corrective actions
- Coordinate Workplace Rehabilitation Program for injured employees to ensure best recovery and premium minimisation
- Ensure environment and sustainability policies as well as procedures are adhered to
- Conduct inductions and training of employees in compliance with site and Company requirements and legislation and record and maintain in appropriate registers and reports
About You
You will bring the following skills and experience to the role:
- ICAM Qualification
- Minimum Certificate IV in Health and Safety
- Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role within industrial or heavy industry
- Understanding of safety compliance obligations
- Experience with regulators, audits and WHS requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely
- Autonomous and willing to learn
