Wells Fargo is seeking an RMBS Trading Associate to join the APAC trading team. This role will normally be based in Hong Kong, with the initial 6-12 months to be located in our Tokyo office.
In this role, you will:
- Helping senior traders who are responsible for trading and marketing US RMBS and related structured products during APAC hours to APAC clients
- Actively involve in day-to-day transaction executions, client engagements and related operation tasks
- Develop and grow the client base, increase RMBS and structured product transactions with APAC clients by co-working with regional sales and US trading desk.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with multiple internal partners, including Regional Management, Risk, Compliance, etc.
- Operate with high diligence according to the internal risk and control framework
- Participate in Trader daily activities, executing trades, supporting client accounts, and identify opportunity for researching and correcting trade, risk and compliance issues within Wells Fargo Securities
- Present recommendations for resolving customer requests, provide a quick overview of buyers and sellers information, and exercise independent judgment while developing expertise in the operations and trading function
- Collaborate and consult with peers, traders, risk, compliance, and manager, including internal and external customers
- 2+ years of Securities Trading experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- University Degree or advanced qualifications and equivalent experience
- Network of institutional clients in the region
- Fluency in Mandarin
- Strong sense of urgency and commitment as well as a strong business sense with a strategic and tactical orientation.
- Good understanding of technological, risk and regulatory trends impacting securities trading business
- Ability to analyze data and use for decision-making and managing initiatives.
- Highest level of integrity and good judgement and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong commercial judgement, excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Comfortable working in a matrix organizational environment and partnership skills.
- The incumbent is expected to attain and hold any required licenses to perform the job function.
