Accountant- Team Lead

US – Remote 

Role Overview

As Accountant Team Lead specializing in General Accounting at Varian, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health of our organization. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) while managing a variety of accounting functions that drive our business forward. This role ensures accurate and timely accounting operations, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and support for internal and external audits.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Month-End Close: Lead the month-end close process for assigned entities, including review of journal entries, accruals, and adjustments prepared by two staff accounts, as well as preparation of journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Ensuring Accuracy and Compliance: Oversee the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, ensuring transactions are properly recorded and reconciled. Ensure accounting activities are compliant with IFRS, including preparing, reviewing, and maintaining financial records.
  • Precision Review: Perform regular and ad-hoc account reconciliations, resolving discrepancies in a timely manner. Review account reconciliations of two staff accountants.
  • Process Documentation: Create and maintain process documentation for tasks.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, providing financial insights and support to drive business decisions.
  • Special Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed, contributing your expertise to diverse and dynamic challenges.
  • Championing Innovation: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the accounting function, implementing best practices and innovative solutions.

Core Requirements

  • Expertise: A minimum of 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong focus in general accounting.
  • Educational Foundation: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong knowledge of accounting principles in IFRS or US GAAP.
  • Language Mastery: Fluent in English, both written and oral.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience in applications such as Microsoft Office, including intermediate Excel skills. SAP experience preferred.
  • Analytical Mindset: Possess an analytical and problem-solving mentality, with a natural curiosity about business issues, drivers, and solutions.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, managing multiple priorities with ease.

The base pay range for this position is

Min $89,000 - Max $133,500

Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Siemens Healthineers offers a variety of health and wellness benefits including paid time off and holiday pay.
