The Relationship Manager is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key existing clients that are of significant strategic importance to the organisation. The  role of the Senior Relationship Manager is to build a mutually beneficial, sustainable relationship with all clients within the allocated portfolio; to retain key strategic relationships; to identify upsell and cross sell opportunities from these clients and convert into a revenue stream.

  • Build and maintain relationships and be the trusted client contact point for key decision makers.

  • Be an industry expert,  know your client and the industry they operate in.

  • Understand the client strategy,  business problems and priorities.

  • Make revenue pipeline and GCRM management a priority.

  • Achieve agreed revenue targets inclusive of client retention, and the upsell/cross sell of additional products and solutions.

  • Achieve agreed activity targets that focus on regular proactive client engagement.

  • Lead commercial negotiations and ongoing revenue forecasting for clients.

  • Ensure  that both client and Iress deliver on their contractual commitments.

  • Work with clients to implement and ensure  adoption of Iress trading and market data products, proactively educate clients on new release functionality or features and benefits.

  • Support the delivery of new and enhanced product features and propositions to the market

  • Be the conduit to internal teams and  engage specialists for complex requirements.

  • Build a network within industry including clients and prospects and contribute to opportunities to promote Iress e.g. industry conferences and events.

  • Apply the Iress commercial ways of working in all activities including engaging with clients via the  chosen methodology, process and tool-set etc

  • Draft,  maintain  and implement  the Client Account Plans.

  • Collate, manage, schedule and present to clients e.g. quarterly steerco’s. 


 
What you will bring:
  • A proven track record within a Business Development Manager role or a similar role with at least 2 years experience.

  • The ability to identify opportunities and upsell and cross sell with a proven track record in retaining clients and delivering against targets.

  • A natural networker and strategic relationship builder, internally and externally.

  • Proven success working cross-functionally to bring about the right results for clients.

  • Excellent negotiation skills and organisational skills and able to communicate clearly and concisely and navigate complex problems and complaints and dissatisfaction.

  • A focused problem solver who ensures practical, commercial outcomes are achieved.

  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.

  • The ability to guide and mentor junior and less experienced members of the Commercial team.

  • Adopt a  positive approach to change management, supportive of innovation and transformation in a complex environment.
