The Sales Manager champions customer loyalty, expands market presence, and leads business development initiatives that enhance Baker Hughes’ electromechanical portfolio—including generators, synchronous condensers, motors, and power management systems.
As the Regional Sales Manager will have the following responsibilities:
Developing new accounts while maintaining and expanding business with existing customers.
Contributing to frameworks for prices and conditions.
Cooperating with (technical) sales support to realize sales opportunities
Supporting a department with large, estimated orders.
Investigating customer needs and aligning Baker Hughes capabilities to deliver integrated, high‑value solutions.
Developing targeted campaigns to increase sales of power‑generation products within existing power plants.
Building trusted relationship with end users and key influence centres to expand market penetration.
Driving opportunity identification, qualification, and conversion across the full sales cycle.
Use CRM tools effectively for opportunity management and forecasting.
To be successful in this role you will:
Have BEng, BSc Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification. A practical engineer.
Have previous track record of Sales within the service portfolio of generator/motors (spares, repairs, maintenance) to the Oil & Gas sector, utilities and industries.
An innovative and self-motivated Salesperson with the ability to work largely unsupervised.
Able to follow through with cold calling. Relevant experience in managing relationships at senior levels.
Someone who has successfully developed and concluded business within the targeted marketplace.
Fluent in English (writing/speaking)
This is a line function with a minimum of activities covered by specific written instructions. It is development of business with accountability for results.
This is a creative job involving team leadership, planning, coordinating, marketing, pricing, quoting, promoting and selling and assembling complex projects to bring about integrated solutions.
The job requires persuasive selling skills, ingenuity, the ability to create new ideas, motivate others and overcome buyer objectives and recognition of benefits which can be enjoyed by the customer.
This job is fundamental to the company's planned expansion program to capture business in both new and existing marketplaces.
It therefore requires the investigation of customer needs, the development of new accounts, and the application of company capabilities to satisfy the requirements of the marketplace, whilst maintaining existing business from existing customers.
Proven track record in a fast-moving proactive Aftermarket Services business.
Experience of operating globally to deliver strategic objectives on time and to plan to increase sales revenue.
Excellent understanding of creation of successful strategies within an Aftermarket Services environment.
In depth understanding of the products and the market landscape.
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
