We are currently seeking a Technical Manager to oversee the technical operations of our recycling division and drive recycled product acceptance across our Melbourne and Brisbane markets. This is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring high-quality technical services, driving product innovation and acceptance, and supporting our commitment to zero harm.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all technical aspects of recycling operations to ensure the quality and consistency of aggregate products.

  • Provide expert technical support to both internal and external customers—resolving issues, developing practical solutions, and enhancing product performance.

  • Manage laboratory operations, ensuring customer-focused service, effective cost control, and compliance with NATA and Australian Standards.

  • Drive continuous improvement in product quality, sampling, testing, and inspection processes.

  • Champion innovation by researching and developing new recycled products and cost-effective raw material substitutes.

  • Leading product advocacy with relevant local/state and federal government agencies, engaging with relevant consultancies with aim to influence specifications and drive further uptake of recycled products in the market.

  • Promote and enforce a strong health, safety, and environmental culture aligned with company policies and legislative requirements.

  • Oversee risk management, reporting, and ensure adherence to WH&S and environmental standards.

What You Bring to the Role:

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a technical support role within aggregate laboratory operations.

  • Minimum 5 years of proven management experience.

  • Degree in Civil or Materials Engineering (or equivalent).
     

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong understanding of laboratory operations, construction materials compliance testing, and recycled product specifications

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong presentation and advocacy skills.

  • High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Strong analytical and lateral thinking skills, with a problem-solving mindset.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and manage teams effectively.
