The opportunity
We are looking for a passionate and driven HW Integration engineer to join our team.
- This role offers professional growth across research, pre-development, product development, and aftermarket activities. You will help design radio products that become part of Ericsson's portfolio deployed in Japan and globally, contributing to Ericsson's Technology Leadership.
- As a Hardware Integration Engineer in PEU Radio you are responsible for making the radio hardware work in a complete system - by integrating boards, modules, software, and verifying that the product meets technical, regulatory, and quality requirements prior release.
- This role is hands-on, ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex measurements and verification challenges, and want to grow their careers in an innovative, collaborative, and forward-leaning organization. You will be part of global R&D network in chosen area of interest with access to Ericsson's leading technology
- You will be directly involved in the development of Ericsson's next generation of radio network products, contributing to system design understanding and end-to-end performance validation.

Key responsibilities
- Participate in design and development of future radio systems, from research prototypes to product development and field support
- Work hands-on in the lab with advanced instrumentation
- Integrate radio HW boards, modules, and nodes into a working radio system
- Ensure HW works together with ASICs, FPGAs, RF chains, power, and mechanics
- Support early integration to detect system issues as early as possible
- Securing and optimizing the radio unit's functionality and RF performance to be as good as possible.
- Integrate radio HW modules, boards, and nodes at system level
- Execute and drive HW and system-level verification and troubleshooting
- Support node integration, lab bring-up, and test environment readiness
- Act as a cross-functional technical interface between design, verification, and projects
- Collaborate closely with system architects, software teams, vendors and operators to meet performance, reliability and manufacturability targets
- Investigate and resolve test system issues, drive improvement activities.
- Share knowledge and mentor junior engineers; participate in cross-functional teams in an Agile environment
Who we're looking for
- We welcome experienced / senior engineers seeking technical leadership opportunities. Typical skills and background include:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication or similar technical education (Master's preferred)
- Strong technical understanding of Radio HW- and SW- architectures.
- RF and radio expertise such as RF measurement techniques, instrument handling, wireless systems and Digital Signal Analysis
- Good programming skills (C#, Python, MATLAB or similar)
- You are curious to learn and grow in area of radio product development
- Self-driven and solution oriented with ability to learn and innovate
- Team player with strong collaboration and communications skills
- Knowledge of baseband and radio product concepts and relevant standards (3GPP/ETSI/CE/FCC/Telec)
- Strong troubleshooting skills, curiosity and a practical, problem-solving attitude
- Comfortable working in Lean/Agile processes and driving continuous improvement
- Resultdriven with a serviceminded and qualityfocused approach.
- Ability to work effectively in English; capability to collaborate in Japanese is a strong advantage.
